Academy-Award winning actress Mira Sorvino has flown under the radar in the past few years while she raised her three children with her husband Christopher Backus. However, she’s got several films in the works and a new one coming out today, Multiple Sarcasms.
Mira spoke to the New York Daily News about life as a struggling actress in New York City and raising her kids in the Big Apple.
On advantages of city life: “It’s been great so far. I worried a bit because we tend to think of New York kids growing up really quickly and being supersavvy, maybe not in the healthiest way. But my children have wonderful friendships. They take terrific classes. They love their schools. So I’m not seeing any negativity so far.”
On how motherhood has affected her acting: “It has revolutionized my life because I love my children so much. I’m a much happier person now that I don’t really care about how big or small an actor I am. I’m very judicious when it comes to how much time I’ll spend working, because I don’t want to deprive my kids of my company and I don’t want to have someone else raise them.”
