Lisa Edelstein: You Can't Avoid Coming To Terms With The End Of Your Fertility

In an interview on The Wendy Williams Show airing May 11, House star Lisa Edelstein opens up about the prospect of being single and child-less at almost 44. The actress shared her thoughts with Wendy via TV Squad,

As a woman, I don't think you can avoid ... coming to terms with the end of your fertility in your life. I think there's just so much pressure ... to do certain things as a woman that if you don't end up doing them, you feel like you've somehow failed when, actually, you just might have been acting naturally for you."

In the past, the actress has said that she is comfortable with not having children, "For me, just being how old I am, I know I don't want to be a single mom. I really would rather make it a two-person job. But I've also come to terms with not being a mother at all. I'm actually really good with either direction that my life can take as being a valid experience."

Kudos to her!!!! Too bad more people don't adopt this mindset. Too many people have kids that shouldn't ..... and they have more kids than they can handle. Kids don't define your life or whether or not your life is a success. For many people, they just aren't the right choice. Good job Lisa!

Good for Lisa. She's a wonderful person & doesn't believe she has to bring children into this world. And, this is just an afterthought, but obviously, she knows she hasn't met the right person to share children with (if she really wants them at all!) Anyway, i think Lisa seems to be one of the most grounded people in Hollywood, doesn't do drugs, isn't slumming from one guy to the next, & i like that she's devoted her life to animals, something her & I have in common big time! If you want to send Lisa my email, i'd love to hear from her! Yeh, i'm sure you won't or can't cuz you don't know it....anyway, she has the right idea. There's so many kids born into this world anyhow, that more should be adopted, right here in the U.S. that need a home anyhow. Why bring more into it, to me it's sort of selfish. I myself many years ago (I'm 51) thought of adopting briefly but figured they wouldn't to a single person. Keep up your good work with animals, Lisa. That's what drew me to you in the first place, plus i love you on House & everything i've read about you, your honesty & modest ways.
