Katie Holmes & Suri Cruise Shop For Shoes
| May 24, 2010 by JENNY SCHAFER |

Katie Holmes was seen with her 4-year-old daughter Suri in Los Angeles on Sunday (May 23). The mother-daughter duo - wearing matching purple shoes - made a stop at Le Pain Quotidien for coffee and some pastries to go. They later headed over to Barneys New York to spend a little girl time shopping for shoes while snacking on their pastries.
Earlier this month, we saw Katie and Suri shopping Steven Alan's on Robertson Blvd. in West Hollywood.
Papa Tom Cruise was not spotted on either occasion.

awww she's a cutie :)
How come there are always pictures of this kid eating in fancy clothing stores? I thought most stores had NO FOOD OR DRINK policies.... More special privileges for the rich.... that is why these celebrity kids grow up so delusional and feel like they can do no wrong...unforunately as we know many many of them end up in rehab or worse....
So she's a normal child after all, for she must have played heavily lately.
At least that's what I assume her bruises are from.
As far as eating in shops is concerned, have you ever tried making a kid stop eating before entering a store? Would'nt be much fun with my gal. I guess this is once again an occasion where Katie must have thought it was'nt worth the fight and let Suri have her way.
After she eats her cookie, she'll start scoping out the high heels behind her.
She was MUCH cuter as a baby. Now she's just average looking.
Biankita ...
that is why our society is going to hell in a hand basket. I have 3 kids two teenagers and a 6 year old and I would never allow them to eat in a store WHY because I raise my children to follow the rules.... Rules should apply to all -the wealthy and famous should not be exempt.... Again that is why these kids grow up with such entitelment issues and feel they dont need to follow rules (i.e. Lindsay Lohan, Redmond ONeill, Cameron Douglas etc...) You need to get some balls and stick up to your kid... I used to tell my kids eating in store is not allowed and they will call the security if you do..... and guess what all my two older kids are honor roll students, atheletes and have NEVER been in trouble with the law....
NYCMommy: Nice of you to presume that because this four-year old child is eating in a shoe store that she will grow up to be a drug user or dealer.
It's quite possible that at some point in my kids' lives, I let them eat something in a store when they were small. Guess I'm lucky they didn't turn into hard-core criminals {sarcasm}.
Our society is not going to hell in a handbasket because of a little kid eating a grilled cheese sandwich in Barneys. It's going there because people seriously have nothing better to do than criticize complete strangers, especially children, that they know nothing about (and viewing random pictures of someone on the internet does not mean you know ANYTHING about them, their lives, their discipline procedures, their relationships).
Janna.... My point is the rules are made to be followed... And parents should set the rules not children..... SHe has been seen eating many times in many high end stores in NYC that I personally have shopped at and know that there is a definite NO FOOD or DRINK policy. Whould you want to buy a pair of shoes that a 4 year old had her dirty food hands all over ???... I would not. My points about celebrity kids was the lack of boundaries and rules that follow them into adulthood not that they will be drug users or dealers. I am sorry if that offended you.
There isn't a single photo showing her touching a pair of shoes. Maybe her mother checked with the salespeople, who said it was ok if she finished her sandwich (or whatever she's eating) as long as she didn't touch the shoes... so she didn't touch the shoes. My point is that you **don't know**.
(Oh, and it would take a heck of a lot more to actually "offend" me than some random stranger spouting off about strangers on the internet.)
My kids eat in stores. when they're hungry, they're hungry. I've never seen these "rules" except in the cheap-o stores that REALLY value the little money they have that they'd put into their small business. I've worked at many high end retail places and none of them have these "rules."
Get over it! Let her have her cookie.
She's cute! Her dress is BabyGap! haah
Suri was a really cut baby now she is just plain ugly! She always looks so unkept and we all know that she is the biggest SPOILED BRAT duh!
The major amounts of bruises on her legs are because she's anemic from not eating a healthy diet!!!!!!!!
I agree we only see her eating pastries, cookies and cupcakes... other celeb kids are seen eating fruits and such....
What?! Since when are you living in their house watching what she eats? I'm positive she eats other times too, not just when she's being photographed.
I think it's hilarious that people think they really no how Suri is being raised, and if she is spoiled or not, or if she has a good/bad diet. I know celebs put themselves out there so they have to deal with the assumptions about their lives, but they're kids shouldn't have to deal with it. There's nothing wrong with an opinion but is it necessary to bash a four year old? Can't you just comment on how cute she is? And get over the fact shes eating in a store! I did it all the time when I was a kid and I didn't turn into a drug dealer.
I think NYC Mommy has a point, actually.
OK, it;s just a child eating a sandwich but one of the basic rules to teach smaller children is that sometimes rules exist for a reason and I abhor the idea of clothes or things being spoilt and wasted when some people have so little: have a little RESPECT for property and for others. It's not a difficult concept to follow!
There's no photo of her actually **touching** anything.
I have seen a photo of her touching a pair of shoes on that day..at just jared
You can see her holding the pastry in one hand and touch a shoe in another
Janna- actually there was a picture on this site yesterday with her hands on a tan pair of high heeled shoes... dont know why it was pulled over night but she definitely is touching the display counter where shoes are in current shots. Regardless a child should not be eating a pastry in a department store and anyone else's child would NOT be allowed to. I shop in Barneys regularly and I know that for a fact since I have seen sales people asking adults to refrain from eating or drinking in store.
I am totally with NYCMommy and I am no uptight conservative. I have 3 children and of course I would not let them walk into a boutique with food. They get f=greasy hands and touch things. They should touch things. Thye are kids and they are curious. But thats why you make themn finish eating and wipe their hands first. Maybe because this was a dept store and its shoes katie thought it would be allright. Also I agree she looks like a picky eater (she has that build) and is always eating sugary food. BUT if I was followed outside my house there would be more of that kind of treat than at home as you do tend to go for coffee and cake etc as a treat. Anyhoodle, I suspect she has a rubbish diet but I don't KNOW, so won't comment.
You said you wouldn't comment..... right after you commented. I'm dizzy.
And those aren't bruises from rough play. My 6 and 4 yr old have great purple marks and cuts and grazes all down their legs from climbing trees and wading through streams and running like maniacs. That looks like a genteel dance class bruise!

Katie and Suri get pictured going Le Pain Quiotden all the time, and for those who think she has a poor diet, its a cafe with all organic and fresh food and pastries.
Just because it is organic does not mean a child should eat sugary snacks all day. Organic just refers to how it was grown NO pesticides etc....
Am I the only one upset by the person calling this 4 year old ugly?
don't be, that person is full of envy because it's not question this little kid has all the attention because she is really cute :) and she/he knows it as much as we do.
Aw, Suri is such a little stunner! I love her pigtails :)
I believe Suri was eating a sticky bun. Katie should have let her eat in the car, cleaned her up and then taken her into the store. I'm an adult and I never eat food in a clothing or shoe store and I would never let a child do that. I guess some rich celebrities think they can do whatever they want.
AMEN anonymous.... Looks like you hit the nail on the head with your comment...I guess some rich celebrities think they can do whatever they want.
