Violet Affleck’s School Days

Violet Affleck's School Days

It was a busy day for 4-year-old Violet Affleck! The pretty preschooler was dropped off at class in Santa Monica, California by her dad Ben Affleck this morning and then later in the day headed to the Success Center with her movie star mom Jennifer Garner (June 11).

The former Alias star, who is also mom to 1-year-old Seraphina, recently shot down rumors that she is expecting baby #3, with her rep stating, “She is absolutely not pregnant.”

Ben looks like he’s coming unhinged or something. He always looks so miserable.

Too bad she’s developmentally challenged. I know they will help her at the Child Success Center. My friend took her kid there and they did wonders with him. Good luck!

I know this is an old post, but your comment about Miss Affleck is troubling. The idea that you would make a statement about this child’s development is unbelievable. All it takes is one kid to read your remark and the next thing it gets back to Violet whom you do not know and have never met. This could ruin any child’s self-esteem. Please refrain from speculation regarding all children famous or not.

I definitely don’t think Jen is pregnant. No sign of a baby bump plus she just signed up for a new movie scheduled to start shooting next month.

Violet is really growing up fast. Such a pretty smart girl. My niece also read at that age. She is so advanced that why she goes to that Success Center once a week (according to souces).

Violet has high functioning spectrum of autism. Which is why she walks on her tip toes and sometimes seems to be still in the baby stage.

LOL, my niece walks on her tip toes but she is really smart, she is five and can speak two languages, and she is not mixed, she is a good student. Walking on ur tip toes isnt always bad, it is a bad habit but it doesnt mean that she is autistic. I used to walk this way as a child and I was very thin like violet

Actually the Child Success Center is also for kids who are also very advanced, so I’m not exactly sure what your talking about. And Jen and other’s have said Violet is very verbal and smart, which of course every parent would say, but she does look like a very smart little girl. Just my opinion, but anyway cute pics!

Yeah its not just a place for kids with development problems, parents who want their kids to be even more educationally stimulated go there a lot too. And Anon who said Violet has autism, you are completely wrong.

Autistic children can be verbal and smart too. I don’t know if Violet is on the spectrum, but if she was, that wouldn’t mean she would have a miserable life or be some kind of burden to those around her. I hate the bigotry towards people with autism. Just because they aren’t like everyone else, doesn’t make them faulty and in need of fixing.

Ben needs to chill about the paps. Violet doesn’t seem irritated by them and is always mellow so why can’t he just get on board with this part of his life? Being cranky doesn’t make the paps go away and only tells the kids that they should fear and hate the paps too. Now if Violet feared the paps and hid (like Suri) then I’d get his pissy attitude, but life’s too short to worry over things you chooose not to fix (they could move out of LA but have chosen not to).

Thank you for your comment. I have Asperger’s syndrome and I have five children two with Asperger’s and one with classic autism. My IQ is well above average and my daughter with classic autism also has a very high IQ. My other two have not been tested yet but are also very intelligent. Im sick of all the posts I see that say autism is a tragedy. Its obvious that Violet has an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) you can tell by her movements, her facial expressions and her happy prancing. She reminds me a lot of my little girl. She is beautiful and I dont blame the parents so much for not really talking about it considering societies view of autism. People need to get better educated on what Autism really is. It is a spectrum disorder meaning it has a wide range of functioning levels.

I love it when people come here and say “my friend took her kid there..” or “I know someone who went there too…”, you automatically know it’s BS, they’re just trying to sound like a credible source when they really have absolutely no clue. This center also offers a pre-kindergarten readiness camp, could it possibly be that Violet who is turning five this year may be getting ready to go to kindergarten and maybe just maybe they are seeing if she is ready? Pure speculation ofcourse on my part but with Jen off doing a movie this summer in NY I am sure that her kids will accompany her there, so Violet will not be in Santa Monica to attend this regularly scheduled camp during summer, so my guess is that they accomodated her with special classes. Just a guess… I tend to look at the positive rather than the negative unlike other posters who have nothing better to do than judge a poor child.

Well if you read their website, it says they are designed to help children with either occupational, speech or educational “needs”. If she already goes to a nursery school, there would be no need for her to go to CSC unless she was lacking in 1 of those areas. So she’s obviously behind in at least 1 of the 3.

    • Pauline

If you search for the programs that CSC offers, you will find some else for enrichment.

I just can’t understand why so many people first suppose V had problems and then make a judgment. It’s unfair. We don’t know her and her family in real life. So it’s awful to say something bad about her. To me, V seems like a happy and smart girl who always enjoys reading books.

Bless the gorgeous Affleck family and wish all the best.

Some of you people are just making up lies and rumors. Violet is not Autistic.
This center is not just for special needs kids. It is also a testing center to measure what level your child learning at (Highly Advanced or Slower learning). In Violet’s case I believe she is Highly Advance.
I have seen video myself and heard Violet speaking way more advance then any 3 year old I have spoken to. Just because you dislike Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck don’t go around making up RUMORS about their child. Just about anyone who speaks of Ben says he is highly intelligent and he speaks Spanish, French and some Arabic. Jen Garner has a BA Degree in Theater. Jen is also on record saying sometimes she has a hard time keeping up with Ben because he is super smart. Casey Affleck has a Degree in Physics. Ben’s mother is a HARVARD Graduate. Jen’s mother is a College Professor and her father is a Geologist. If anything Violet is probably way more advance then her fellow classmates. Ben and Jen are just checking to see how far ahead she is so they make sure she gets the right amount of stimulus, so she doesn’t get bored with her lessons.

You make absolutely no sense at all. How the kid turns out has nothing to do with how many degrees run in the family. Get a clue. The kid is mildly autistic… she has idiopathic toe walking (walks on the balls of her feet). If you watch videos of her, you will see it. Her motorskills are in question.

      Reply
      • Audrey

Silly toe remark. All three of my kids walked on the balls of their feet. They are grown and college educated with NO autism.

        Reply
      • Seestar

Actually you are wrong. “How the kid turns out” may have quite a bit to do with how many degrees are in the family. The poster was pointing out that the child is probably intellectually gifted, which was inferred from what is known about the academic achievements of close family members. In fact, general intelligence is highly heritable and it is the most powerful predictor of academic success. So there is often a correlation between parent education level and childrens’ intelligence. There are many, many studies that show this to be true. Parent education level will also contribute to environmental factors that influence how a child develops, how they communicate, vocabulary, general knowledge, etc. Obviously there are exceptions. I am not speculating on whether she has aspergers — a person could be highly intelligent and have aspergers. But it is ridiculous for anyone to even speculate about this without more information about the child than her physical appearance or “she walks on her toes”. However, the information about her relatives, if accurate, provides some evidence to suggest she may have above average intelligence. Again, you need more information to know, but this kind of information is, in fact, useful in understanding a child’s development. That is why it is generally collected as part of a comprehensive evaluation.

Children with high functioning autism or Asperger’s have huge vocabularies. I have Aspergers and I have two other children with autism (I have five in total). So I have two with Asperger’s and one with classic autism. My son who is 9 now can speak two languages fluently and uses words that most children his age would not. When he was five he would say “Illuminate” or “Illumination” instead of “bright” or “Light” as just one instance. WAKE UP people we are not retarded we are autistic and it doest mean that there is something WRONG with us we are just different. I can tell just by pictures of her that she has an ASD and as I said in my other post I dont blame the parents for not being public about it. First maybe they havent told her and second because of societies view of Autism. Thanks to people like Jenny McCarthy autism has become a tragic horrible thing like its cancer or something. To people like me and my children its an insult to tell us that something is “wrong” with us. Just because we have problems in some areas we excel in many others….isnt everyone this way. The biggest problem you neruo typical people have with us is that we are not social enough. Too bad we are mainly happy to be alone or with our family most of the time, there is nothing wrong with that. Why do you think this child clings to her parents with all these strange people invading her life all the time?

To Anonymous that posted at 11:42. You heard a video of Violet speaking?? LOL. We already know that’s BS. And I would hope, according to YOU, that she is more advanced than a 3 year old because she’s 4 1/2!!!! And what does Ben’s brother or Jen’s mother have to do with Violet’s development? If she’s developmentally challenged, that has nothing to do with how many degrees her family members have. Geez.

If you have a gifted child, you wouldn’t have them Tutored, you would put them in a special program which is what they are probably doing because she needs a bit more stimulation than her regular school gives her. I am a second grade teacher, and the books that I’ve seen violet read are books children in second and third grade read, so all this stuff about her being slow is way off base. Just becuase you hate Jennifer Garner doesnt mean you should make up nasty rumors about her child. yOu are pathetic, as i said.

Why does everyone think that IF Violet is autistic that means she’s defective in some way or that people are attacking her? Also many autistic children are good at reading. Most are smart, happy, and talented. Also IF she was on the spectrum, it could mean as little as she has issues with motor skills or speech or organizating herself during school. Autism comes in many forms and even if Violet is autistic she can be gifted in some areas, average in certain areas, and delayed in others.

It’s not an insult to say someone has autism unless you are a person who think any disability means a person is defective. The ones blowing off any suggestion of autism seem to be the bigots here because they think Violet can’t be a happy, beautiful, talented child AND have autism.

The people making the comments that she has autism or some other problem are the ones who think there is something wrong with her and that it’s an insult. They are the same ones who constant call her ugly and say other horrible things about her. These people are truly screwed up and for bizarre reason have a raging, irrational hatred for this family. They try to make themselves feel better by attacking a little girl because they have nothing else in their own lives. They have zero idea why she goes to this place, and anyone who thinks they can diagnose medical or developmental disorders from seeing a picture is insane.

Yes it true, I often see not just on this site but other as well, where stupid people say cruel things about Violet’s looks. I believe it is meant to insult either Jen or Ben or both.

I truly think that is why Ben get so upset when the paps come around his family and take un-authorized photos is because of all the ugly and hateful things so adults say about his kids. Those adults obviously say those same things to their kids who in turn say them to Violet. Ben said once on a intereview when asked how they came up with the name Seraphina, that he would not say because somebody in his family would get hurt. BTW, Violet named her little sister, Sera before she was born.

A little girl at Violet’s school told her that Jennifer Garner lived at her house and Violet say no she didn’t. Jessica Biel told this story during the press for Valentine’s Day (which she and Jen co starred in together). Violet asked her mom why do people say that Jen Garner lives at their house. Violet only know her mom as Jennifer Affleck, (Jen’s legal name).

There is no reason to poke fun at adults who have physical and mental disabililties but to do at children is absolutely appaling and way beyond disgusting.

Kudos to you @ 3:04 p.m. finally an intelligent person. Violet can have a very constructive life with autism as do MANY children (who are also mainstreamed in regular classrooms and supplemented by these Centers). Yes, they have been pictured many times coming to and from this Child Success center with Violet as well as a pediatric neurologist’s office. Perhaps for evaluation/testing purposes. Jen seems well equipped to deal with this so good for her and I’m sure the child will be fine.

Sorry, but it’s not “intelligent” in the first place to say she has autism when no one here has any idea about anything. You cannot diagnose a complicated developmental disorder based on paparazzi photos. No, you can’t. Whether or not autism is good or bad or treatable or whatever is completely irrelevant. Unless someone here has a medical degree and has personally examined her, they are WRONG and profoundly misguided if they claim to know she any problems of any kind.

CSC isn’t only for kids that have developmental problems, and like other people have said, it has classes for children that are advanced to enrich that and also prep classes for kindergarten. It’s cruel to be bashing these two little girls for their looks or make up lies. The only thing that’s “obvious” in any of these photos is that their parents love them. In such a f*&ked up world of parents who beat their children, drop them off at the side of the road, or “discover” them kidnapped after a night of sound sleep, we should celebrate that there still exist parents who spend time with their kids doing normal kid-stuff.

Any person that is educated, or familiar with the facts and criteria of the autistic spectrum is able to spot it where as other who are not will not be able to, once again it is not a bad thing, it is just a fact!
