It's a case of life imitating art! The Karate Kid star , 11-year-old Jaden Smith loved learning martial arts so much he is returning to China to deepen his study of the form!
This should come as no surprise to his co-star Jackie Chan, who was recently quoted as saying that he told Jaden's dad Will Smith that Jaden was "so good" and that he should "not waste his talent."
Jada Pinkett-Smith, Jaden's mom, is now planning on going to Hong Kong for two months so Jaden can continue to foster his love for martial arts. And don't worry about Jaden's sister, 9-year-old Willow; Jada says she'll come along as well: "I'll take Willow because she's learning Mandarin. She loves to learn Mandarin."

Wow, when i was a kid we went to the local YMCA to perfect our Kung Fu. I live this kid and his family but I hope all this fame doesn't get too far into his head.

Awesome! Fabulous! Good for them!! I'm raising my daughter in France so we could become fluent in French. After her last year in primary school we'll return to the States - where she'll study Spanish in school. I already speak Spanish and English. Great to finally hear about these kids doing something to enrich their minds. Maybe this family is not as shallow as they usually come off in the media.
I think it's wonderful that Jaden's family can afford to spend two months in Hong Kong so he can do what he loves. Nothing wrong with that at all. I have a feeling any parent who can afford that would do it in a heartbeat. It would be money well spent. Also, good for Willow for wanting to learn Mandarin. Every child should learn a language . . . or two or three!!
