Dawson's Creek star Katie Holmes and her adorable 4-year-old daughter Suri were spotted at Whittamore's Farm in Markham, Ontario on Sunday (June 27).
After a fun day of picking strawberries, Suri enjoyed an ice cream treat while mom carried her to the car.
The 31-year-old actress is in Toronto filming her new miniseries for The History Channel, The Kennedys. Greg Kinnear is set to portray President John F. Kennedy and Katie will star as First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy. The film will hit the small screen in 2011.

Re: the not walking thing - if there were paparazzi taking photos of me with my child, my natural instinct would be to pick up my child so we could walk/run away from the situation faster. Just saying...

Huh? We're you there? You realize that there are almost always dozens of aggressive photographers there, even if you don't actually see them in the photo, right?
And, even if they were 100 feet, rather than 5 feet away, it's certainly possible that Katie was anticipating a crowd when she exited and simply wanted to walk through the possible chaos quickly, faster than a young kid can walk.
Your criticisms are rather spiteful and aggressive...
Spiteful and aggressive? Isn't that a bit dramatic!
It's not just about how close they are. It's about the fact that children often walk very slowly and dawdle about. If I had the paps harassing me all the time, you'd better believe I'd want to get in and out of places as quickly as possible, and I wouldn't want to chase after a child who might want to wander around while I was being photographed.

what is it with people freaking out when little kids get carried around? Obviously none of the posters are around kids that are 3,4, or 5. Kids at that age get carried around all the time! Throw in the fact of the paparazzi being around, even though their not very close in this particular pic, and I'm sure you'd carry your kid around too. Plus kids grow up so fast, I'd take every chance I could to carry them around! Stop making a big deal about something so small.
my one year old niece doesn't weigh that much but still you carry her around for a few minutes and your arm is ready to fall off. its to hard to carry a child Suri's size around ALL the time paparazzi or not.

Yes, as the poster below points out, the problem with your logic is that you don't actually know what Katie and Suri do "all the time." The photos you see on the web represent about 0.0001% of the kid's life, and it's a very unnatural part of her life (with the photographers and all), too. You should resist making generalizations about the remaining 99.9999% of her day.
take a chill pill. I have every right to state MY opinion. I don't care if you agree or like it. I never said you had to.
And if your opinions are based on incorrect facts or things you have no way of knowing, you should be prepared to be called out for that, because you will be. Just because it's your opinion doesn't mean people aren't allowed to criticize it or point out why you are wrong.
Okay, that's fine -- express your opinion. No one is taking that away from you. But you have to understand that people have the right to express their opinions about your statements, in return.
The lesson is that you should be careful about the things you post, and realize that people are going to read them and, if things don't really make sense, they are probably going to point that out to you.
Yeah but you have to remember these pics are taken in a time frame of 20 seconds to two minutes when there getting in and out of the car...
I am just worried about Katie. She looks so frumpy and unhappy all of the time. Poor girl, she is not ageing very well even with all of that Cruise money at her disposal for facials, private trainers, etc...
I don't think Katie looks unhappy here. She looks peaceful. Her outfit is appropriate for berry picking at a farm.
Unfortunately, Tom is always talking about how at ease Suri is with the paps. Yet picture after picture shows her in distress OR being carried. She walks around NYC during the snow, rain and more--ten to one she didn't want walk today. Katie is her mom, if she wishes to indulge her whims I guess that is Katie's right.
However, that said, isn't she in her jammies? Now that I would have a problem with.
Huh? I'm not getting your last statement. Is there some sort of study you can link to for the rest of us that says public jammy-wearing in four-year-olds is somehow detrimental to the child's or someone else's health? Or, perhaps, a study that states that spoiled rich kids become terrorists or otherwise hazardous to society, despite having older siblings that seem very well-adjusted? Maybe there's proof out there that cotton gowns sold under the label of "jammies" cover the body differently than those sold as a dress? Outside of those things, I'm failing to see anything that can be considered a problem, unless you're judging someone else based on your own belief system, which is pretty sad for such a useless issue. No wonder when it comes to religion and sexuality things get so heated if we can find a problem with pajamas!
My problem with jammies is more that it shows a laxity in parenting and if she were a "normal" four year old--all her friends would make fun of her and that would most likely be the end of the jammy wearing. However, since she is per Scientology allowed to make these choices with no ramifications, then how will she learn any self-discipline. I sincerely doubt Cruise is going to have Suri go thru the teen portion of the Sci-fi program which includes work farms, beatings and the like.
So she will probably end up being the next Loahn. Which is sad because she seems like a smart and pretty little girl which is just what Lohan was--and look what happened to her with no limits.
And basically Mz. Anonymous. I don't care. I just think allowing your four year old (or three year old or even sixteen year old) to rule the house is stupid. And based on what both Tom and Katie have said she does rule the roost.

It would be one thing if you crazies arbitrarily judged a firstborn child, but there are two older children in the picture that completely undermine your baseless assumptions. Bella and Connor are so clean-cut there aren't even rumors of scandal where they're concerned. I'm no fan of the cult, and I lost a friend to their outlandish fables. But at the same time, what use is there in making wild assumptions, and then crucifying the child and family in response to those assumptions?

Yeah I agree with the post above me. Suri doesn't really seem to at ease with the paps as Tom says but then again we only see about 20 seconds of her life so we can't really say. Anyway if Tom were to say Suri absoultely hated the paps, people would just go crazy about how they exploit her, so either way he'd be wrong to one person or another.
oh, shut up people! people sometimes carry their six year olds! and guess what! the place is probably swarming with paps! so before you say crap like that why don't you think. it's not your life and you are in no place to judge how other people choose to raise their children. i do NOT know how celebrities deal with it. getting critisized for the littlest things. I'm pretty sure you aren't/ won't be the perfect parent either but you, like everyone else has the choice to parent how they want. leave her alone!

Now that katie and Suri are in Canada they will me left alone canadians just leave celebrities alone and let them get on with their business and I suspect the paprazzi will eventually leave katie and suri alone.

You don't know if they're fantastic parents. There's no way to tell that from a few random pictures. You should go read some biographies of celebrities from the 40s and 50s, especially the ones written by their children, some of the ways those children were treated was appalling and yet their parents always managed to put on a convincing show in pictures for all the world to see. It remains to be seen whether they are fantastic parents.

Ice cream, cup cakes and bakery goods are all we see this kid eat. One would think that since there at a strawberry farm we would see her eating strawberries, right? It's no wonder Suri always has bruises on her legs, she's probably anemic from an unhealthy diet.
Um, are you a doctor? How on earth are you able to diagnose a medical disorder from paparazzi photos? And seriously, at least try to use a little logic - how could we ever see them eating regular meals if the only pictures we see are when they are walking around? Do you eat full meals while walking around? Of course the paps don't take pictures of her eating regular food, because they don't have access to these people in places where they eat meals restaurants, their home, etc. I mean, really - do you even put any thought at all into the stupid things you say?

Riiiiiiiight. Because, you know, if we just discount over half the Suri posts on this site, we can conclusively say that she has never been spotted walking.
Everyone has the rights to their own opinion, like someone mentioned. But bashing a 4 year old cause she never looks happy or cause she is always being carried, wtf? That's sad. She's an innocent little girl who is being stalked by creepy paparazzi, I would be scared and unhappy. And If it was my kid I would carry them if creeps were taking pictures of us. My cousin is 6 years old and she still gets carried, not all the time but when she's tired and has been walking for a while. Kids do get tired easily you know.
Suri just seems like a super spoiled kid that gets whatever she wants. I don't know this for fact but I would sure bet on it!
The amount of negative kids written about this kid is so sad. Do you people forget she's just a kid? A four year old! And yes I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but trashing a little kid is just wrong.
I was right by there this weekend! Looks like they got their strawberries well before it started to pour in the evening.
I hope they enjoyed some quiet time because in Markham (NE of Toronto city centre), not too many people would notice them anyway. And yes, people are crazy with these negative comments. Just cause we see some photos of celebrities does not mean that we know what they do every waking moment with their kids!
