It’s officially over for Sandra Bullock and her husband of nearly five years, Jesse James, PEOPLE reports. The pair filed papers last week in Texas to finalize their divorce. Their marriage crumbled due to James’ infidelities.
The Oscar-winning actress, 45, filed for divorce in April in Austin. The papers cited “discord or conflict of personalities” as the reason for the breakup. Today, Monday (June 28), Bullock’s rep confirmed that the divorce is now final.
Though it’s unclear if there was a prenuptial agreement, James won’t be entitled to spousal support. Under Texan law, a spouse must be married for at least 10 years to qualify for support.
The divorce enables Bullock to finalize the adoption of her son Louis as a single mother. The Hope Floats star, who is now legally single and by law would have to wait 30 days before she can marry again, also “presumably worked out a private visitation agreement” for James’ kids – Chandler, 15, Jesse Jr, 12, and Sunny, 6 – says Daryl Weinman, an Austin-based family law attorney.
