Angelina Jolie: Brad & The Kids "Know All My Flaws"

Academy Award-winning actress Angelina Jolie is returning to the big screen this summer in the action flick Salt. The gorgeous mother-of six opens up to Parade about everything from her family life with Brad Pitt to her late mother, a rebellious youth, and run-ins with the paparazzi.

On if the kids keep their relationship together: "The children certainly tie us together, but a relationship won't hold if it's only about the kids. You also must be really interested in each other and have a really, really wonderful, exciting time together. We do. Brad and I love being together. We enjoy it. We need it, and we always find that special time. We stay connected. We talk about it. It's very important. If Brad and I are strong and happy, then our kids have happy parents, and that's the best thing we can give them. Brad knows me completely, exactly as I am, every part of me. He loves me. The kids love me. They know all my flaws and all my oddities. And they accept them. And so I can feel complete."

On the paparazzi: "We do everything we can to keep our kids away from it. We travel to places where the kids aren't aware of that kind of thing. We try to give them a full life where they don't have to come face to face with that world. With the paparazzi present, we're careful when we leave the house. Other than that..." She laughs. "We don't stand in the checkout line at the grocery store looking at the magazines. Our friends don't tell us about it. And our kids don't know. I feel if we keep looking out for them, they'll be fine."

On balancing work and children with Brad: "He takes the kids to school; he visits me on set with the kids. I'm home for dinner, or I'm there for breakfast. We're together all the time. We plan. Brad and I take time off between films to travel, have big experiences, do things together. That's how we work it out."

The part at the very end when she was talking about her here mom was so sad!

It is nice to see her happy, healthy, and content.

Sorry to be the negative one here but why is it that when there's a movie to promote, she suddenly opens up wider than she did her legs to the married men she's lured into her weird web? Whatever... Have a happy life hypocrite.

yeah I have to agree with you on that. It's like they like keeping their personal/family lives private but then when it comes to promoting movies they talk about it a lot, but then again what parent or wife doesn't want to talk about their kids or husband? Also it their family life is so fascinating to so many people and its a big part of her image.

angelina has always been extremely open and honest with the media. sometimes too honest..
p.s. could you spare the crude comments please?

Jeeze...give it a rest.. Its been 51/2 yrs. When is she supposed to talk about her life? When she has nothing to promote?

Why don't you speak your mind and post your own comments rather than commenting on what another person posted? Thank you very much.

the part she talks about her mother brought me to tears

Sophie Smith said:

So she's stooping so low as to mention her dead mother so that some will feel sorry for her and go see her movie... God... And this woman is considered one of the most famous actress we have today? Ugh.

abby said:

it's disgusting that you would even say that. yeah i'm sure she reminisced about her deceased mother so people would go see her movie. she doesn't need to worry about box office, and she probably doesn't care about it either. her family is what is important to her not money or how many people see her movies.

Sophie Smith said:

Does anyone care anymore haha

Blah, blah, blah! Enough of this family!

Anonymous said:

The world knows all of her flaws!

Anonymous said:

Well u care enough to post sophie...

I heard she has a, um, gas problem...

As far as I can reason, if a magazine or whatever asks you a question, you answer or politely decline. If they decline many people accuse them of being unsavory, rude and snooty. Yet if they answer many people accuse them of being unsavory, rude and snooty. And they often get interviewed where there is something to promote . Only thing to do, if you dislike them without really knowing them (what you read in print can be far from the truth) wouldn't it just be better to ignore reading blogs about them?

Yeah her homewreking flaws! She's the worst

Those poor kids will once find the internet and discover that their mother is despised, fake and reviled and their father has no balls. It will be a rude awakening.

I wish she would go away.

Love interview. I'm sure her kids will be proud of their mother who is not only the highest paid actress in Hollywood -$20 million a film +percentages, is an Oscar Winner, is a pilot, was named to Time's Magazine Influential List 3 times, is a member of Council of Foreign Relations, Is a UN ambassador, Humanitarian and Activist and an adoptive parent. They will be also be proud of their father for co founding Not On Our Watch and Make It Right. They will also be grateful for the parents for alternating filming so that the family is always together. They will be proud of parents who took them around the world and exposed them to many cultures. In the Vanity Fair Article she talks her kids meeting Masai tribesmen in Kenya and how her kids told Zahara she is from a great place- Africa. I'm paraphrasing but as an African I rarely hear positive things about my Continent only famine, civil strife, AIDS etc. Their kids have been to Venice, Prague, NYC etc they travel with 2 teachers one is multilingual. Their kids are multilingual. I think the Jolie Pitt kids are lucky.BTW the Jolie Pitt Foudation is building the Zahara Jolie Pitt AIDS /TB in Ethiopia. google Maddox Jolie Pitt Foundation to get info on work in Cambodia. Also google MIR to learn more about the work in New Orleans. I will focus on positive and ignore the negative comments
