Celebrity parents and their kids gathered on Sunday (July 11) to help Jayneoni Moore launch Sophie’s Book Club, a reading initiative encouraging children to crack a book – or two! – during the summer months.
Some of the celebs in attendance were Nancy O’Dell, Ming-Na, Samantha Harris, Constance Marie, Kim Porter, and Joey Lawrence. Baskin Robbins and Paper Culture sponsored the fun event in Sherman Oaks, Calif. Nancy, Ming-Na and Constance even read a few stories aloud to the kids.
Some of the great books in Sophie’s Book Club include How Rocket Learned to Read, Dogs Don’t Do Ballet, Swim! Swim! and Duck! Rabbit! The fun event also included a book drive, where celebrity parents purchased new books to be donated to local Los Angeles preschools in low-income areas.
