Sara Gilbert Talks About Being "Out"

Sara Gilbert has come out of the closet. During a press conference for The Talk at the Television Critics Association on Wednesday (July 28), the former Roseanne actress revealed why she was opening up about her personal life.

"I've been acting my whole life, and I've never really discussed my personal life. This is a talk show...So obviously I'm going to be discussing my life more."

Gilbert will be one of the co-hosts as well as executive producing the View-like show. The Talk will focus on motherhood and parenting and will also have fellow co-hosts Julie Chen, Leah Remini, Holly Robinson Peete, Sharon Osbourne and Marissa Jaret Winokour on board.

US magazine reports that when asked if she felt comfortable being "out", Gilbert replied with an honest answer.

This is a whole new world for me," she said. "I'm not an expert on this, or I don't analyze these things. I'm just sort of living my life."

Gilbert and her partner Allison Adler have been together since 2002. They have two children together, Levi, 5, and Sawyer, 2. Gilbert gave birth to Sawyer and Adler gave birth to Levi.
