Jennifer Lopez Set To Join 'American Idol'? Not So Fast

Rumors are swirling that Jennifer Lopez is set to take her place at the American Idol judges table, but insiders close to the show are saying that those reports are premature. Maybe Jenny From The Block isn’t packing up husband Marc Anthony and twins Max and Emme, 2, for the move to Hollywood just yet.

According to sources, part of the delay is due to negotiations by Jennifer’s representatives – they’re trying to broker a lucrative package for her that could include a development deal with media empire Fox. Apparently Love Don’t Cost A Thing, but having a superstar like J-Lo on your show requires plenty of perks.

But there are other factors at play, too. The American Idol audience is a fiercely loyal and vocal one, and Jennifer’s camp is also waiting to see what the public’s reaction is to the possibility of the singer-actress becoming an Idol judge.

What do you think of Jennifer Lopez joining American Idol?

See that is Benny Medina doing the Fox deal..!! Not just for her..to do the
show.. But to do movies and other things..that is why it is better to get a
judge that is not famous but is a trained professional record producer
or something that is in the background field of music instead of say Jlo
and Steve Tyler.. So what does Jlo think about sitting next to a 50 year old
and Randy who she thinks is beneath her..!!! Demands are already coming
in and it is not a done deal never will happen..

A-men to that. She never could sing or act. She comes from a very poor section of NYC (Bronx) and she has been very lucky that she found fame. Now she is just an over rated diva.

She looks fantastic. Very youthful and stylish. Her strength is no music or acting. Jennifer’s real strength is to show up to award shows looking fabulous. She’ll remain relevant as long as she continues to do this. She needs to learn her place in the hollywood machine. She can’t carry a movie anymore because she continues to only do trite romantic comedies and she is too old forthe music industry. Let’s face it. The music industry is for talentless 15 year olds not talentless 40 year olds. That’s unfortunate for her but she has made alot of money and needs to just enjoy her retirement. lol

Lopez would make an excellent judge! She did really well when she was a mentor on Idol in the past. I think the public would see that she is a warm, sweet person but is also not afraid to offer constructive criticism. She has a lot of experience in the music business and could offer a lot of good advice to the young contestants. I think it’s a smart choice & a good fit. It doesn’t hurt that she also brings a glamorous, sexy image to Idol!
