Rock legend Rod Stewart and his supermodel wife Penny Lancaster are expecting their second child together, reports People.
The couple revealed,
We were thrilled and delighted to be able to tell Alastair that he was going to be the big brother to a little baby, expected just before Mummy’s 40th birthday”
Back in 2009, the Maggie May singer told GMTV that they were hoping for another child, “One more and then we’re going to close the office.”
The couple have been married since 2007, and welcomed son Alastair in 2005. Stewart has six children from previous relationships, Sarah, 46, Kimberly, 30, Sean, 29, Ruby, 23, Renée, 18, and Liam, 15.

Congratulations to them! Rob may be on the old side to be having another baby, but he’s one of my favorite singers ever.
*Rod* Oops.
Enough with the kids already. I understand he is married to women that are much younger and they need to secure their futures by having kids with him. But it’s time for a snip. His oldest is 46 years old for goodness sake and old enough to be his youngest’s grandmother. Is he going to have kids into his 90s. I know he’s rich but at some point you have to start thinking of your own mortality and what is best for your kids. Having children that you won’t see reach adulthood is kind of sad.
Is it anyone’s business at what age ppl decide to have children?? I see lots of young couples and single moms that should have waited until they are in their 30′s & 40′s. (or just plain shouldn’t have had kids at all). Totally irresponsible and kids are neglected. The trend is to wait so the kids have a GOOD life and the parents are financially responsible and emotionally secure with themselves. Get over it!!
to correct you his oldest daughter Kimberly is going to be 31 this month she was born in 1979. older parents can still provide emotionally and spiritually for their children. having 2 with each of his wives and one with a former girlfriend is nothing new in hollywood. the late Patricia Neal would’ve had six by the time she was Penny’s age had she not aborted her first in 1950. and mind you she had her youngest daughter Lucy after surviving a series of strokes brought on by an annurism while she was pregnant with Lucy.
Stop bringing up nothing to do with this comment.
He actually has a daughter older than Kimberly who was given up for adoption. Wikipedia informed me of this. It’s kinda unreliable, but I trust them on this.
I love your comments, Courtney!!
Delutional ramblings-you are obsessed with abortions and miscarriages. What is going on in your head. Anyway, I wasn’t suggesting that Rod shouldn’t have kids if he wants. It’s just at some point you have to stop thinking about yourself and start thinking about your kids. Having kids out of wedlock or when you’re a teen is irresponsible-and so is having kids at 65 or however old he is. And if you think that all that matters is money, just take a look at his younger kids.
Wow you make an intersting point. There is almost a 50 year gap between his oldest and youngest child.
Ya I’ve loved Rod Stewart forever but I must say that it gets a little gross when there’s like 5 different mothers involved! I mean, seriously, he probably needs a secretary just to coordinate visits from his kids from all those different households! Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. I agree – time to zip it up!

I really don’t think it is fair on the kids. Even for somone with lots of money like Rod Stewart because we all know that he is not REALLY going to raise the child. TV host Rene Syler makes some valid comments on Rod’s decision to have another child at his age. http://www.goodenoughmother.com/2010/08/rod-stewart-dad-again-at-age-65/
