Suri Cruise Is A Budding Designer

It looks as though little Suri Cruise may be following in her stylish mama’s footprints.

As a child, Katie Holmes – the youngest of five – enjoyed customizing her own outfits from the hand-me-down items she would recipe from her older siblings. The 31-year-old actress, who now has her own clothing line, Holmes & Yang, says that her 4-year-old daughter now enjoys altering her own clothing.

“Suri and I do that now with her clothes,” says the former Dawson’s Creek star. “Or rather, she does it. She says, ‘I want this sleeve cut,’ and it’s like, ‘Okay, we’ll cut it.’ She picks out all of her own clothes and has since she was one-and-a-half.”

The proud mama, who is currently filming her new miniseries The Kennedys in Toronto, Ontario, says she began designing clothes for her daughter soon after her birth.

I started making clothes for Suri when she was born, designing dresses, and then having seamstresses sew them, because I don’t sew very well. As a child, I was always drawing clothes, and I’ve always loved fabrics, and when Suri was born, I wanted to have certain things be from me and created just by me for her.

What a lucky little girl!

Suri’s father is Katie’s husband of nearly four-years, Knight and Day star Tom Cruise.
