Madonna: Daughter Mercy Will Not Meet Man Who Says He's Her Dad

Looks like there won't be a father-daughter reunion between Madonna's adopted Malawian daughter, Mercy, and the man claiming to be her father.

James Kambewa was pressuring Madonna for a meeting with Mercy, 4, but NYDailyNews.com reports that the popstar is disputing his claims of paternity.

"The extended family members had no knowledge of a father. The village leadership had no knowledge of a father ... the mother was raped and left," Madonna's spokeswoman said.

Mercy, who is Madonna's second adopted Malawian child, was born in January 2006 to a 14-year-old mother who died shortly after giving birth.

Kambewa had initially vowed to fight the adoption but said earlier this month that he was now happy that Madonna was looking after Mercy.
