Helena Christensen and her 10 1/2-year-old son Mingus were spotted at a park in New York City today (September 3). While kicking around the soccer ball with her son, the supermodel mom also snuck in a workout.
On her best advice to parents, the 41-year-old former Victoria’s Secret Angel said, “just let it happen.”
I don’t know how to give advice. When you have a child, you learn something new every day and I couldn’t give any precise rules because there aren’t any. Every child is different. You’re different. I worried a lot when I had Mingus; the responsibility is so heavy if you think about it. If you think too much about it, it drives you crazy, so just let it happen. All [kids] really want is love and routine and a good night’s sleep and delicious food. He certainly complains if there’s not enough garlic in the food.”
Mingus’ father is Helena’s ex-husband, Norman Reedus.

I don’t know if Mingus’ t-shirt is supposed to reference Boondock Saints: All Saints Day, but if it is, how cute is that that he wears merch from his dad’s movie! Especially in light of Norman Reedus’ story that Mingus once asked a stranger (rather indignantly) “Why is my daddy on your shirt?!”
I can’t believe that they named their child Mingus Reedus. I think that is worse than Apple Martin, Pilot Lee and Bronx Wentz. That borders on child abuse. Poor kid.
reedus is his last name, not much can be done, norman reedus is a hottie anyway.
