Melanie Brown opens up about the pain of coming face to face with her ex Eddie Murphy at the Shrek Forever After premiere earlier this year.
In an upcoming episode of her new reality TV show Mel B: It’s a Scary World, the former Spice Girl reveals that her heart sank when she posed for promotional shots with her ex-boyfriend - the father of her 3-year-old daughter Angel Iris - because she still had not forgiven him for questioning the paternity of their child.
In a taped session with a counselor, an emotional Mel B opens up about the public humiliation she endured,
We got asked to go to the Shrek premiere and I didn't expect her real biological father to all of a sudden pop back into our life. In my mind I fought so hard for justice at the very beginning of my pregnancy. I was hanging my head in shame because people were going, 'Is that the father or isn't it?' So, do I really want to be on a red carpet yet again, entertaining everybody else's world, like, 'We're a happy family' and 'Ooh, Eddie's back in our life?' But I had no choice. It brings up all that pain and all that hurt that I went through by myself, pregnant. I had to move to the beach, I had paparazzi following me everywhere, I had people calling me a golddigger, saying that I got pregnant on purpose; it was a horrible time."
The 35-year-old mother of two also addresses divorce rumors. She says that her union with hubby Stephen Belafonte is solid. "We are very tight, these rumors get spread and snowball. We are far from getting divorced."

So, why did she go to the premiere? It's not like she didn't know that Eddie Murphy was the STAR of the movie. This woman is either stupid or she did it for the publicity for her reality show. What a b!tch!!
She went because Eddie is the father of her children and HE invited her and his daughter. What was she supposed to do? He IS the father and she did it only for her daughter. Why should she stay home? Eddie mistreated her, but they still have a child together.
I think it was a stupid idea too. you KNEW he was the main star. Yes, he denied paternity but I'm getting the idea that he wants to see her. He's an idiot for what he did but Angel should be able to get to know him.

Um Jamie it takes two to tango but that doesn't mean he wanted her to get pregnant. I do know that she got pregnant deliberately meaning stop taking birth control, in case you were still wondering that's how a woman can deliberately get herself pregnant. He didn't want any more kids and she knew that but instead of her ensuring she doesn't get pregnant she goes and get pregnant. Now he has to take responsibility for being the father of yet another child. It's not enough to say it takes two to tango when it was only one that wanted to get pregnant.

I really can't believe what I'm reading! Yes, she knew he'd be there but she was asked to go & most likely it was a paid appearance. She's a woman with a family & a career. She's just doing her job by showing up. Would you quit your job if your ex showed up? That's just dumb to even let the thought cross your mind! As it was said before it takes TWO! EDDIE knew that he didn't want anymore kids so EDDIE, should have taken measures to ensure that he wouldn't produce more kids! Stop blaming this woman for bringing a life into this world!

Yet another one in a long line of adults that accidently gets pregnant, come on all you adults out there that should know better, you both should have used protection, you especially with Eddie M. and there wouldn;t be an unplanned ptegnancy.

If Eddie asked that his daughter be there, did Melanie really have much choice? If he gets a say and still has rights, then there isn't a whole lot Melanie can do. If Eddie didn't want any kids he should've used protection or taken a more permanent decision (vasectomy). And how are people so sure exactly what went on in their bedroom, were they there? Eddie behaved very poorly when word of Angel's existence came out and while Melanie is no saint, there is plenty of blame to go around and Eddie is certainly no victim. I don't see why Melanie should shoulder all the blame.
Melanie did it for her Angel that what any real mom would do put a side your feeling about your ex or whatever and do what’s best for your child that what she did.
P.S. Anonymous 8:58 there is nothing wrong with her outfit Melanie wore a long tank top, leggings and boots and not a mini dress/skirt or a deep v dress. She was dress appropriate for the event she was at.
Who cares. She's just generating press for her new show. She knows that the only interesting thing about her is the whole embarrassing situation that occurred between her and Eddie FOUR years ago.
Btw, I feel sorry for Melanie but I understand why Eddie wanted the DNA test. It seems they were in a non-exclusive relationship when she became pregnant. So I believe he had every right to make sure that this was his child before forking over thousands of dollars a month in child support. Unfortunately, he behaved very badly after Angel was proven to be his child. He should have been involved in her life in the same way that he is involved in his other kids' lives.

I agree that like Michael Baisden, if Eddie Murphy truly didnt want anymore kids he should have had a vasectomy. He could have had sperm frozen incase he changed his mind later. Also according to the comments ( I dont know) if it was an open relationship, it didn't seem like he planned to be with her long term anyway.
Pregnancy asside, also if it non-exclusive, why have unprotected sex (i'm a male and I don't believe all the condom broke stories). Celebtiries do get diseases. Look at Pamela Anderson, Magic Johnso. He's lucky it was only getting her pregnant. Mel B is young and Hot and all of that, but Eddie showed poor judgement throughout. Though I can't fault him for confirming paternity, how he asked is unknown to all of us.
It's BOTH of their faults, not just Eddie's and Not just Mel B's but BOTH of their faults. I feel no pity for either one of them on how Angel's birth was handled. Yes Eddie should have used a condom but there's a such thing as Birth Control to Mel B. I have to say that me being a woman I have to lay more responsibility with Mel B, because she's a grown woman and should be smart enough to know by now that all of these men laying on top of you may say they want you to have their baby, but when they're vertical and the blood evens out to the head on top of their neck, they quickly forget what they said in the heat of passion: "Ummm baby about what I said...." I hate that women get swept up in the passion and forget to think that all promises made to them by some man can easily be broken, you always have to remember to protect yourself and look out for you because no one else will. Eddie definitely shouldn't have denied Angel being his and though I think that also shows that no he did not want another baby (when he wasn't in the heat of passion), the point was that she was here and your responsibility so man up, and handle the situation. At the end of the day Angel will forever be his daughter and I hope that he is making some type of connection with her that although is small now will grow (once again hopefully). One day he and Mel will have to explain to her what happened and he will have to apologize especially to Angel because she's the one he will owe an explanation and apology to and no one else.
Eddie only denied paternity because he was in an exclusive relationship w/Johnny Gill...Mel and Tracey Edmonds were beards!! Just like Neyo's friend/girl having his baby...Eddie didn't want any more kids because he wants to live the "Lifestyle"he worked so hard for after he had those chidren by the wife...He used Tracey Edmonds the same way to deflect from the baby he knew was his!! Hed didn't want Johnny getting too upset over his carelessness!! Thank you
I watch her reality show and if you all watched her show, you'd see how she's NOT a fame whore, she's a 'real' person...watching her and her husband is like watching my married friends. They both have real sense of humor, they see a family therapist to make sure that they do things right with their blended family...they are the HEALTHIEST celebrities that i've seen on tv. So don't go spewing hate on people and you havent even looked at her damn show!!!!!!!!!!!
