Did Destin Pfaff & Rachel Federoff go too far with Sin Halo?
Did Jason Lee & Beth Riesgraf lose their minds when naming son: Pilot Inspektor?

I love the "interesting" names like Harlow and Aviana for girls and I love Kingston and Maddox for boys. I hate Apple and Pilot Inspektor and Bronx...

Courtney said:

can't say hate any of them but dislike Kal el Pilot Peanut and a few others.

love Abel Aviana Harlow Bardot Serephina Violet Cosima & Leonie.

granted I Fell in love with Leonie from the movie Morgan A Suitable Case For Treatment in which the wife's name was Leonie and was portraied by Vanessa Redgrave. same if a star that 's expecting right now had a girl and named her Alma or Rachel right Alma is the name of the housekeeper in the movie Hud. which won Patricia Neal her Oscar and then Rachel comes from Rachel Rachel which won Joanne Woodward the best actress dramatic golden globe January 24th 1969

Kal-el must be the worst name ever. The child will be scarred for life.

Anonymous said:

My husband was named Jor-El, and we named our only son Kal-El. It suites him, he loves it, and he gets nothing but many many many compliments. I can't imagine why anyone would think it's a bad name, or that they would be scarred lol Quite the opposite.

People get so up in arms about celeb baby names but really, most of them are just names you get used to. Sure names like Bronx or Sparrow sound strange at first, but as those kids grow up they'll see them as just their own regular names. Plenty of adults have strange names but if you know them awhile you just get used to them.

As for Pilot, everyone harps on that as if it's the worst name ever but there are so many worse names out there. I think people just use it as an example because it's easy to remember.

I don't think any of these kids will be scarred from their names...growing up in a life of wealth and privilege would certainly take away the sting from any possible teasing that nearly all kids go through anyways.

Celebrity baby names can be unusual but I've met some non-famous folks with names just a crazy. I went to HS to a Precious, Beauty and Tyese. I have a colleague named Pinky (parents really need to think. This woman is a VP at an investment house). I don't think celebs are any better worse worse than some of the people I've come across.

I'll start on a positive note with the ones I love: Ruby, Mason, Hudson, Gavin (call me boring...)

Ones I like, but probably would never actually use: Valentina, Harper, Kingston, Paloma, Violet

Now, on to the ones that make me cringe: Zuma Nesta Rock, Ikhyd Edgar Arular, Moxie Crimefighter, Sin Halo, Sundance Jennings, Kal-El, Pilot Inspektor. (Are these people naming children or comic book characters? Apple doesn't seem so bad to me anymore, that's for sure!)

DIRTY STAY OUT said:

I don't know why names like Violet, Charlotte, Valentina and Grace would be on a list of bad names. They happen to be REAL NAMES not the name of a bird, flower or fruit.

Anonymous said:

Violet is actually a flower. LOL

Anonymous said:

Bardot Vita's name was changed to BELLA BARDOT.
Confirmed by her mother on her twitter.

I love Violet Anne, Charlotte Grace and Molly June. They are all so cute, not that I would ever use them, because they would be ridiculous for a person who lives in my country.

And oddly enough, I think Apple is a cute name.

I'd rather be called Apple than Cheyenne.

Anonymous said:

Cheyenne isn't so bad as it's the name of a city in Wyoming and Sundance is not only the name of a film Character but also a beloved film festival in Utah. not that Aviana was named after birds she was probably named after the naval airbase her mother was born on.

My personal favorites: Kingston, Charlotte, Zahara, Shiloh Nouvel, Ruby Sweetheart, Tallulah Belle, Bryn, Easton, Liberty, Vida, Levi, Dash, Ryder!!!

Different names are nice and spelling variations also give it some oomph, but most of these names are a bit much! Like Harlow Winter Kate! why 3 names? who really uses 3 names?!

Judge Judy said:

I'm a fifth generation three name bearer.
My family has been given three names to combat our popular last name.
I intend to give my children three names to pass on our tradition.

Katrin said:

I love names Cash and Enzo (sons of Annabeth Gish), Sparrow, Zuma, Vida, Nahla, Aviana.
I don't like: Ava, Henry, Archie, Shaya.

Jenny Schafer said:

I HAVE to reply. I'm expecting a son I plan to name Enzo and my daughter's name is Ava. lol.

Ella Winter said:

My faves on the list are Harlow Winter Kate (Love Love Love!!! and 3 names are a traditional Catholic thing, for anyone who is wondering), Kingston James McGregor (favorite celebrity baby boy name EVER), Zahara Marley, Harper Willow, Kaia, Presley, Honor Marie (beautiful!), River, Ethan Edward (not unusual though, quite ordinary), Harper Renn, Grace Avery (again quite ordinary), Hudson Nicholas, Bryn, Ava Reese (Ava is not original anymore, it is overly popular, but when Ryan and Reese chose it I suppose it was more original), Violet Anne (baby Vi! Love it!), Levi, Mason Dash & Ryder.

The names I absolutely cannot stand are Bronx Mowgli (borders on child abuse), Ikhyd Edgar Arular, Sparrow James Midnight (I like James), Bandit Lee (???), Charlie Ballerina (Ballerina is a noun, not a name!), Otis Tobias (Milo and Otis anyone?), Sin Halo (???), Sundance Jennings, Kal - El (WTF!!!!), Piolet Inspektor (just plain awful), Petal Blossom, Hank IV (personal prefrence, once it goes beyond jr. just end it!), Peanut Kai, Moses (that is a big name to live up to), Diesel (noun), Denham (mispelled noun), Ennio Silva, Cosima & Bodhi Hawn.

I know I should hate Zuma Nesta Rock too, but he is just such a cutie I can't bare too, the name even seems to fit him somehow.

Anonymous said:

Maria Victoria, Margarita and Lourdes are pretty common names in my country

Anonymous said:

I am almost certain that I'm the only one, but I love the name Moxie Crimefighter. I think it's adorable and funny and I honestly don't understand why people hate it so much. The only name on the list that I really don't like is Peanut...it's a good nickname, might even work as a middle name but as a first name it seems kind of short-sighted. Someday "Peanut" is going to be an adult man. Do you know any adult men who want to be called Peanut?

Sophia said:

I like Moxie too :) Not so much Crimefighter, but I can deal with it. Moxie and Zolten are some pretty spunky names! I think they're super-cute.

Anonymous said:

I like Moxie for a pet!

Madylane said:

I agree. Moxie is kinda cute. But in my family we tend to keep the same names going and I will follow suit.

As for guys named Peanut, well, I live in the South. My baby cousin who is the 3rd Lucy in our fam is known still as Little Lucy at 27. I did have a great Uncle Bud. I know of men named Peanut. But that's just me. :)

Shirelle said:

I LOVE the name Harlow

Anonymous said:

The worst in my opinion: Bronx Mowgli, Moxie Crimefighter, Peanut Kai, Apple, Bodhi and Pilot Inspektor. Seriously, why would you name your child Peanut???

Anonymous said:

Forgot Bandit and Sin Halo are awful.

Some of them are nice though like another commenter said. I like Harlow, Valentina, Vivienne, Charlotte.

I didn't see these ones on the list: Peaches Honeyblossom Geldof, Little Pixie Geldof and Fifi Trixibelle Geldoff. They sound like names of poodles not people...or stipper names.

Anonymous said:

poodles! lol you're so right!

Anonymous said:

I love the names Harper, Harlow, Aviana, Seraphina, Jagger, Wylda and Avery for girls.
For boys; Kingston, Rocco Rio (so much fun to say!), Knox, Emmerson and Sawyer. I also kind of like Zuma Nesta Rock.. not to use on my own children, but it isn't as cringe worthy as other names out there.
But really, it is all personal preference.

Anonymous said:

pilot inspektor? seriously?

Sophia said:

The best are Harper Willow, Helena Grace and Scout LaRue
The worst are AkiAnne (sweet intentions, if I recall, but it's a total disaster), Kayden Cash (sooo bogan/redneck/trashy/whatever), Bronx Mowgli (just sounds like they're trying too hard), Java Kumala (sounds like software) and Gunner ("I'm gunna name my kid Gunner 'cause it sounds real tough an' shit.").
The craziest are Bandit Lee (especially for a baby girl), Moxie Crimefighter (I think it's pretty cute though), Sin Halo (it sounds like a screamo song or a video game, ick), Sundance Thomas (sweet but waaay wacky), Pilot Inspektor (it's not cute, it's not meaningful, it's just plain weird), Peanut Kai (I have no words).
And I don't know whose child Ennio Silva is, but it's a pretty awesome name. Just saying.

Lioness said:

Can't really say I hate any of the names (would NOT name my child Peanut, though, know WAY too kids with that as a nickname... plus, you're naming your child Peanut. I mean, really? Peanut?)... but wondering why the worst celeb baby girl name ever (Princess) isn't up there. Yeesh.

But what really bothers me is extremely common names- I'd rather be an Apple than a Ava/Sophia/Isabella/Olivia/Emma/Madison/Megan/Kayla/Grace (*cringe*)... there are a million of them everywhere, and every mom thinks their own is the cutest and most unique. Same with boys: Connor//Ethan/Jack/Michael/Aiden, Jayden, Kayden, Hayden, and any other -ayden variation you can think of/Jacob/Matthew (*shud-DER* at Matthew, it doesn't even sound nice).... I just don't understand why you would want to give your kids names everyone else has. How about a little originality? Aren't there enough Joshua's and Emily's in the class? After all that commonality, I welcome an "Sunday" or "Bronx", personally... (Side note: naming your child after the day he/she was born is very popular in certain parts of the world.... I have met people of every day-name but Saturday... and I'm sure he's/she's out there...)

Oh, and as for celeb baby names I just love (in no particular order): Harlow Wynter Madden, Nahla, Seraphina, Kingston, Nesta Rock (Zuma's middle names), Suri, Shiloh, Zahara Marley, Maddox (the Jolie-Pitts pick great names)...

Lioness said:

Also absolutely LOVE Lou Sulola... such a perfect combination...

courtney said:

My favs are Harlow, Vivienne, Everleigh, Tallulah, Ruby, Java, Shiloh and Lucille. For boys I like Ryder, Easton and Maddox best, and also Knox, Kingston and River.
I dislike names like Pilot and Peanut, Crimefighter and Bandit.
Can't find anything strange in names as Vivienne, Louis Bardo, Tallulah, Lucille, Stella, Helena, Charlotte, Grace , megan and similars.

Courtney said:

some of the names a previous poster mentioned not liking because of their commonality happen to be special to me Emma for example is my maternal grandmothers comfirmation name Olivia I fell in love with from the tv series The Waltons and Ava & Sophia are two of my favorite actresses names and for the boys I like Edgar Jack Kingston and Sacha

Rachel said:

Love the names: Kingston James McGregor Rossdale & Harlow Winter Kate Madden.
Like the names: Honor Marie Warren & Suri Cruise

Enio is a lovely name. I also really like Zuma. Tobin, Amadeus, Shiloh, Phinneus and River are also names which i really love. Names like Francesca, Charlotte and Grace are very plain names. I dont like them.

Bandit Lee is an amazing name!! Gerard and lynz are awesome for thinking that name up :)
