Katie Holmes Is In No Rush For Baby No. 2

She seems to be on constant bump-watch, but Katie Holmes insists that baby #2 is still a long ways off.

"Maybe in a couple of years, but right now I want to make sure I'm really there for Suri," Katie says in the October issue of Marie Claire. "I'm the youngest in my family – my closest sister is five years older than me, and the next one is nine years ahead of me, so I was a bit of an only child, and I liked it! I liked having all of my mom's attention, and sometimes I think I still do."

For now the former Dawson's Creek star is enjoying the family she shares with her 4-year-old daughter Suri and her very romantic husband Tom Cruise, who she recently revealed showers her with roses at every opportunity.

"It's really exciting," she says of life with the Top Gun star. "Tom's as big at home as he is on the movie screen. He's so passionate about everything, whatever he's doing. When he's being a dad, he's right there; he's giving it his all. It's inspiring and it's fun. It's an amazing life, but we always remind ourselves of how incredibly lucky we are."

She insists that she and her uber-famous hubby do their best to keep their preschooler grounded - at that includes insisting Suri do her daily chores.

"We travel a lot, and so for me, it's keeping a daily schedule for Suri that never changes," Katie says. "We wake up, and we do the same thing. She does her chores. I think it's very important. If she doesn't get her chores done, I notice she's not really herself. She has to make her bed, she has to take her dishes to the sink, she has to put her clothes in the laundry — you know, that basic stuff."

Shes´s always so beautiful. And no bad comments on her and her "spoiled" brat yet, hope they wont come at all. I´m just gonna say nice things at least. It´s nice that she wants to give her daughter all the attention she needs.

I'm with Katie...we are aiming for a 5 or 6 year age span. I want to enjoy my daughter while she is young...before bringing another into the family!

These are not good photos of Katie she looks dead or drug up in these pictures, there been better photo taken of her. The whole Suri dose chores thing seems like a lode of crap Suri is not told to dress properly for the weather or wear shoes when out around town and tells her mom what to wear and what not to wear yet were suppose to believe that Katie and Tom make Suri do chore?. If in scientology a child is never told no and is for the most part able to do what they want dose not add up to what Katie is saying in this interview.

Learn some spelling and grammar. "Dose" is spelled "does". "lode" is spelled "load". "Were" is "We're"

I like that Katie and 9:10 want to give their daughters a lot of attention when they're young - meaning that once the girls are schoolaged and not as cute or dependant on their mommies anymore then a new baby will come along and the first born can...what parent themselves? So by that logic the new baby can get all the attention and be the center of the universe that the first child once was and the first born is just out of luck. I don't get how this is an admirable thing to admit out loud?

She always looks sad...even when she's smiling. If you look at the picture of Sarah Jessica Parker and her son, James Wilke, you can see the difference. They look happy, "REAL" happy, not a million miles away, need to smile for the camera happy. I don't buy it!

how hilarious. on one hand she is delaying a second child just so princess suri can enjoy her undivided service... ooops, i mean company.... but on the other hand suri is no spoilt brat because she is made to pull her doona up of a morning.

No wonder she always look borderline clinically depressed: she lives to serve a midget egomaniacal control freak and tom cruise.

I'm not buying it. Does this mean she thinks mothers of 2 or more children are not giving them the attention they deserve...that's the way I read it. What crap that when Suri doesn't do her chores she's not herself, right, she's acting like a kid not an adult. She wants more of your attention Katie. This woman will never win Mom of the Year award. She's a ding-a-ling. Oh, BTW, I think Suri is a spoiled brat not well adjusted. I see many Hollywood kids in photos and you can just tell how well adjusted they are, Ben and Jennifer's daughter, Violet, Gwen Stefani's boys are too cute, Angelina and Brad's children seem so normal, oh and that Halle Berry's daughter, Nahla is way too cute. None of these children hide their faces, cover their ears and need to be held by Mommy most of the time.
