Penélope Cruz's Pregnancy Caused Concern

Penélope Cruz and her husband Javier Bardem recently announced that they are expecting their first child. A representative of the couple confirmed that she is four and a half months pregnant despite having denied numerous pregnancy rumors.

Penélope, 36, recently traveled to London to finish filming the fourth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tidesis. Apparently, when the filming first began there was some concern about whether Penélope's pregnancy would become a problem. An insider tells Life & Style, "The film company was worried about scheduling because of Penélope's pregnancy but tweaked some of the scenes to make it work."

In the movie, Penélope portrays the daughter of Blackbeard, played by Ian McShane. Her spirited character is the nemesis of pirate Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp and, according the producer Jerry Bruckheimer, "There's a little romance between [Depp's] Captain Jack and the character that Penélope plays."
