Vera Farmiga Spends Second Trimester Directing Film

Academy-Award nominated actress Vera Farmiga has revealed how she spent her summer!

Farmiga, who famously keeps hidden from the spotlight by living in the Catskill Mountains of New York, is expecting her second child with her carpenter/musician hubby Renn Hawkey. The busy mom was spotted at the Toronto International Film Festival recently where she revealed she has been working on her first directorial effort, Higher Ground, saying,

I've been working on it for the whole summer in my second trimester of pregnancy which was tough."

She added of the film, "I directed it and starred in it simultaneously. It was a super-low budget film which traces a little girl through childhood, teenage pregnancy and adulthood in search for 'higher ground'. It was wild to be on the other side of the camera!"

The couple, who have been married for two years this month, are parents to son Fynn, 1 1/2 and plan to welcome baby no. 2 in October.
