Ellen Pompeo On Work And Motherhood

Ellen Pompeo and Grey's Anatomy costar Patrick Dempsey grace the cover of TV Guide this month, and inside Ellen opens up about how she balances work and being a mom to Stella Luna, 1, her daughter with husband Chris Ivery.

"It's very challenging," she admits. "I bring her here as often as I can, but sometimes I have my moments where I am not the nicest person here because I feel very stressed that I want to get home to her."

But Ellen recently talked about the importance of also taking care of oneself in order to be an effective parent. "We have to do it for them. We’re so busy being martyrs a lot of the time, doing everything for them. Well, this is for them. Taking care of yourself is for them.”
