Rebecca Gayheart was seen taking her 6-month-old daughter Billie Beatrice out to a local Bristol Farms grocery store in Los Angeles on Friday (October 1).
Billie is Rebecca’s first child with husband Eric Dane. In fact, the couple didn’t name the baby until she was born.
The Grey’s Anatomy actor said that his wife wanted to “wait to see [the baby]” before picking a name. He added, “You want to make sure that the name sticks.”

She must have been delirious from labor when she chose that name.
There’s a story behind that name – Billie is for Eric’s father. Rebecca was convinced they were having a boy before they learned the truth and still decided to name her that. Beatrice is for Rebecca’s grandmother.

Billie is a cutie pie and it’s not uncommon to name your first born child after family members. for example Nell Newman is named Eleanore Teresa after her maternal/paternal grandmothers. nor would it have been strange if they had chosen to name her after one of their favorite actresses like Nell’s mother Joanne Woodward was originally supposed to be named Joan after her mother’s favorite actress Joan Crawford.
