Brooke Burke‘s return to Dancing with the Stars as co-host has only added her long to-do list. Mother of four young school-aged children – Neriah, 10, Sierra, 8, Rain, 3, and Shaya, 2 – Brooke says her schedule has never been so packed. She opens up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about partnering with Oral-B to help children with facial deformities, her predictions for this season of DWTS, and her “hectic” but fun household.
CBS: How are your kids doing? Is everyone off to school?
BB: “Yes everyone is in school which sounds easier than it is! There is a lot going on with having them in two separate schools between drop off and pick up, carpooling, parent/teacher meetings, ballet etc. My schedule is even more hectic now.”
CBS: How did you get involved with Operation Smile for Oral-B?
BB: “Operation Smile is an important organization and when Oral-B approached me and told me they had teamed up with the charity to contribute $25,000 to help children with facial deformities I was happy to get involved.
Oral hygiene is a must in my house and right now (until October 31st) they have a great special offer where you can receive 50% off the purchase of select Oral-B electric toothbrushes with a mail in rebate.”
CBS: You have a gorgeous smile, tell us how you get your little ones to brush their teeth.
BB: “Thank you. Brushing our teeth together is a mandatory part of our morning and night time routine. We love to make it fun for the kids with electric toothbrushes and fun toothpaste.”
CBS: We love seeing you on Dancing with the Stars again! Do you have any predictions for season 11? How is it different from past seasons?
BB: “I don’t really have any predictions for season 11 yet. It’s very different this year. There is a completely even playing field this season and it makes things very unpredictable, which I like.”
CBS: Any idea who will be the front runner? Who has surprised you the most?
BB: “For me, Jennifer Grey is the front runner right now. Rick Fox is really starting to catch up. Bristol Palin has definitely come the furthest and Kurt Warner has been the biggest surprise for me so far.”
CBS: She’s Got The Look is now in its third season and you’re the new host. What do you hope to do differently than in seasons 1 and 2?
BB: “I hope the fact that having a new host and guest judge brings something fresh to the show. The casting this season is a little different. It’s more focused on looking for a diamond in the rough.”
CBS: She’s Got The Look is a modeling competition for women over 35. Are there advantages for women aged 35+ in the modeling industry?
BB: “I think that there is so much more work available to women over 35 now than ever before. I think that one of the key things to remember with women today is that beauty knows no age, it’s all about being a well-rounded woman inside and out. Personally, I have worked more now in my life than when I was younger.”
CBS: What’s up next for you?
BB: “Finishing my book, The Naked Mom, which will be releases in February with Penguin, with a book tour to follow. I will also be hosting Miss America in January 2011.”View Slideshow »»
