“Ms. Céline Dion has been admitted to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida for observation at the recommendation of her doctors,” reads a statement issued by the hospital. “She has been admitted to prevent the early delivery of her babies, which is the standard of care for any patient with twin pregnancy in this clinical setting.”
The statement goes on to say that Céline was admitted “to ensure the patient can be in close contact with their doctors and clinical resources, leading up to their birth.”
Though reports recently surfaced that the Grammy-winner had scheduled an October 22 delivery for her twin boys, they were soon denied by her husband René Angélil, who said, “There is nothing scheduled. We do not have a date.”
Céline’s rep added at the time, “They want Céline’s pregnancy to go as long as possible, at least until the first week of November. She would never intentionally endanger her unborn children by scheduling a birth early like this.”
Céline and her husband are also parents to René-Charles, 9 1/2.
