Congratulations to controversial beauty queen Carrie Prejean and husband Kyle Boller!
The newlyweds are expecting their first child. “We are just so excited,” Prejean, 23, who is three months along told FOX411.com on Wednesday. “I’m due in May on my grandmother’s birthday. She recently passed away, so that’s very special to us.”
Prejean and Oakland Raiders quarterback Boller, 29, were married in July. She said they started trying for a baby about a month after their big day.
I’m trying to stay healthy, but it has been tough. I’ve been getting night sickness. We’ve started thinking about names, but we are keeping it to ourselves for right now. It has been fun looking at baby books.”
The happy couple plan to find out the gender of their child next week. The proud papa-to-be said he couldn’t be more thrilled for fatherhood.
“I have the most beautiful pregnant wife ever, we are so in love and this was just the best news when we found out a couple of weeks ago,” Boller said.
Prejean shot to fame last year in the Miss USA pageant when judge Perez Hilton asked her if she supported gay marriage. “In my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman,” she said. “No offense to anybody there, but that’s how I was raised and that’s how I think it should be, between a man and a woman.”
She later almost lost her crown when semi-nude photos of her hit the web, but Donald Trump, who owns the Miss USA and Miss Universe organizations, allowed her to keep her title because he deemed “the pictures taken were fine.”
However, Carrie was later fired for violating her contract and “unwillingness to make appearances on behalf” of the organization, according to pageant officials.
But in an interview, the beauty queen claimed otherwise: “None of this would be happening right now if I just said, ‘Yeah, gays should get married. You’re right, Perez Hilton.'”
