David Beckham Says Sons Have American Accents

David Beckham says his three sons, Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 5, have all developed American accents since moving to Los Angeles four years ago

He told UK newspaper The Sun, "They've got full-on American accents now but I don't care. It makes me laugh when we go home and we see the parents and grandparents and they are like, 'What's happened to them?'

He added, "The boys are funny. I was putting Cruz to bed the other night and I said something to him and he turned round to me and said, 'Daddy - you're so English'."

For now he says his wife Victoria Beckham and the boys are really happy living in California. Speaking about the kids he said, "They come home from school and either go riding down to the beach or jump in the pool, so it's a different lifestyle but a lifestyle they love. And as long as the kids are happy, we're happy."

The soccer star has just recovered from an Achilles tendon injury that put him out of playing with his team LA Galaxy for six months. Due to insurance issues, Beckham is not allow to ski with his family. He says he can't wait to hit the slopes with them.

"My boys and my wife ski and that's one thing I want to be able to do. I want to snowboard and ride horses and things like that. But I'll probably go skiing with the kids first."

yeah he does seem like a great dad. and it's not uncommon for a child to lose their original accent after spending alot of time in another part of the country/world. for example even though Liz Taylors parents were american she was born in London and still frequently changes between a british accent and an american accent even though she came back stateside in 1942 at the age of 10 because of World War II

I've never heard her talk with a British accent. She's been in America too long.

.........?? So he wont be skiing becuase of insurance rates or he will be skiing and ignoring the rules he must follow as part of his football/soccer contract?

I think maybe he just won't be subject to the rules on his off time, or either when he's no longer playing soccer that's what he wants to do. But then again, lol, it could be both.

I'm thinking he was asked what he would like to do after retirement. Like that's something he's interested in doing once he's not able to play soccer anymore.
