Jake Gyllenhaal Has His Sights Set On Fatherhood

With his 30th birthday just around the corner – he hits the milestone next month – actor Jake Gyllenhaal admits he’s been thinking a lot about family and fatherhood.

“Children are really where it’s at,” the Love and Other Drugs star tells USA Today. “That’s what I feel turning 30, more than I ever did.”

Jake may not have kids of his own just yet, but says he’s learned a lot by being around his 4-year-old niece Ramona.

“It’s incredible to see the traits she has,” he says of his sister Maggie‘s preschooler. “She mimics things that my sister or my brother-in-law do, and it makes me laugh. I just adore her.”

Though the Oscar-nominee has had a few high profile romances – most notably with Reese Witherspoon and Kirsten Dunst – he seemingly hasn’t found “the one.”

So what has he learned about love along the way?

“Mostly just to shut up,” he laughs. “There’s a lot of love in the silences or in listening. That’s the best I can do for right now.”
