Gwyneth Paltrow Reveals Her Postpartum Depression Was "Scary"

Gwyneth Paltrow opens up about postpartum depression in a E! special that aired on Wednesday. US Weekly reports that she talks about having the condition after the birth of her son Moses in 2006.

She said, "You don't want anybody to know that you're depressed or crying all the time. There's this shame that we bring to it and it's incredibly debilitating and scary and you just don't feel like yourself."

The actress also talked about her ex-boyfriends Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck stating, "It was strange to be part of a public couple."

Now living a luxurious lifestyle with husband Chris Martin and their children, Apple, 6, and Moses, 4, she didn't always get a free ride from her parents, Blythe Danner and the late Bruce Paltrow.

Paltrow admits, "I would say 'Dad, I can't go out to dinner, I have no money,' and he would say 'you're welcome to come over here and eat at our house anytime, but I'm not giving you money for your social life.'"

I totally agree. Not much of a fan but it is a very important message for both men and women to understand.
Hate to think her gyms are going to go broke and people might loose their money http://www.futurecelebritygossip.com/2010/12/gwyneth-paltrow-tracy-ander...

Is there a more reliable source?

It's Tracy's gym either way, not Gwyneth's. Gwyneth just let her borrow money a while back.

She also said that she thought her relationship with Ben Affleck and Brad
Pitt was strange...That she did not like the public relationship...

What is wrong with talking about it at least she got over it.. and moved on
with great kids and a great career..

I did not experience postpartum depression at all with my first or third child, only with my second. It was entirely unexpected and I did not realize the extent of it until after it was over. It is scary. I appreciate that celebrities open up about it and raise awareness.
