Helen Hunt Doesn't Want Her Daughter To Act

Despite getting an early start herself, appearing on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Swiss Family Robinson and The Bionic Woman, actress Helen Hunt has no desire for her daughter Makena Lei to enter show business at a young age.

“Oh gosh, no! I can’t look at it that way,” replied Helen when asked about her daughter’s acting ambitions. “She’s 6, and I was older than that at least.”

“I was in school every year and had normal friends and I loved it and here I am, so I can’t say that I wish I hadn’t done it,” she explained, describing movie industry as “a very adult place to be”.

The 47-year-old Every Day star went on to say that Makena Lei would become a child star “over her dead body” assuring fans that despite claims on some websites, the former Mad About You actress did not being acting til age ten.

There are ways to do it where you’re not on a movie set with 60 adults, which I loved at the time, but as a parents, I don’t know that I’d be dying to put her in that spot.
