Johnny Depp: Fatherhood Put Life In Focus
| Feb 17, 2011 by CAROLYN ROBERTSON |

Actor Johnny Depp tends to keep his private life just that, but in an interview with Access Hollywood he talks about the profound impact that fatherhood has had on him.
“The birth of my daughter, my first kid, was the lifting of a veil," he says, referring to Lily-Rose, now 11. "It was like having this fog removed from your eyes… And suddenly you could see things clearly in great focus."
The handsome star of The Tourist admits that this sense of clarity doesn't extend to his working life.
“In terms of being a dad, in terms of being a pop, that’s exactly who I am. But, in the context of the world that I work in, I’m still sort of figuring it out I guess.”
Johnny also recently admitted that he'd be "horrified" if Lily-Rose or 8-year-old Jack, his kids with his longtime love Vanessa Paradis, ever went into show business.
“You would hope that they would want to do something a little more… you want your kid to be Picasso, you want your kid to be a great painter or great poet,” he says. “You don’t want them to have a boss.”
