Céline Dion’s Bilingual Babes

Céline Dion's Bilingual Babes

If you ask Céline Dion and husband, René Angélil , their newborn twins are already quite gifted.

Just how gifted? According to the Grammy-winning artist, the four-month-old babies are already speaking French!

“We mainly speak French to them,” Dion tells Oprah Winfrey in an interview airing today (February 21). “And they speak French to us, too.

“They wave, they speak French — they’ve got it all,” joked Céline.

Although little Nelson and Eddy aren’t really talking yet, they’re existance alone is pretty miraculous to Dion and Angélil, who struggled to conceive the babies after five failed attempts at IVF.

“When Saturday at 11:11 came, and they showed us the first baby that was crying, we were crying,” René recounted. “It was a very emotional moment, and even though we didn’t speak to each other, we were both thinking about the time it took. We are very lucky, very privileged and very fortunate to have these boys.”

The twins make three children for Céline and René. Their oldest son, René-Charles, is 9.

You understand that WE understand she was joking, right? My problem was that she should have stop holding this mask of Oh everything is perfect, and talk instead of the depression she was going too, how she dealt with it, and how she actually finds her life with twins, at a more serious level. Many (young as well) parents of twins could have learn from it and relate to her. By her joking attitude, she was trying to camouflage something that was so obvious: her struggle with the depression. Not even the make up did her the justice. Her eyes were looking so sad.

oh shut up.. ppl who need to learn from celebs about parenthood have a far more serious problem than if celine dion jokes or talks about her personal crap.

Sick and tired of those front page gossip people, who recently got twins and who deliberately choose to portrait a pink picture about living a life with twins, all of these while having 247 help. In the mean time, all of us, the OTHERS, with twins, feel like we are not good enough to crack a joke at others after having to deal with a full time job, and managing a household. All by ourselves.
So shut up back at you ano@3:47

Yeah and if she complained about how hard raising twins is, she would get just as much sh*t about how she has help and therefore she shouldn’t be complaining.

So please go away and leave an innocent story of a beaming new mother, alone.

            Thanks

You took the words right out of my mouth.
Some people always have something to complain about. If she is happy, they will find something nasty to say, if she was sad they would say she shouldn’t be whining. It’s too bad….

Has it occurred to you that some of us with twins don’t find it to be so all-consuming and difficult, even with full-time jobs and no help? My twins are a joy and pleasure. Sorry that you’re not getting the same enjoyment out of yours, but that’s YOUR problem not mine (or Celine Dion’s).

I understand that celebrities have a platform to talk about many serious issues, and 2 that whether or not they like it, they somehow wind up with this responsibility to help others and be role models yada yada yada and the rest, but it’s not their responsibility to turn just EVERY problem they experience personally into a learning experience for everyone. Leave her alone, if she doesn’t want to talk about it publicly, she doesn’t have too. She could still be struggling with it, then she doesn’t need to be letting the whole world in, she needs to be dealing with it privately and in her own due time. And one day if she does want to talk it about it publicly and on a serious note, then she has that option, if not then so be it. There are so many support groups and doctors out there for people if they need help with depression or struggling with multiples, they don’t need CD.

You’re already complaining about an interview you haven’t seen yet?

For all you know, she talked about the “problems” of having twins, her IVF, her postpartum, and her freaking hemorrhoids but this website decided to report only the one little joke she told.

For this, you’ve berated her, decided that she’s depressed and sad, and also decided what it is that she SHOULD have said? My question is: What is wrong with YOU?

I’m watching the show now, and Celine wasn’t on that long and she didn’t talk about anything too deep and serious. This was a fun lighthearted “twin/baby” themed Oprah show. The McGees, parents of the sextuplets are on. The show is about to go off now.

You obvious like her as you wouldn’t have taken a look at this page as well as take the time to comment. So who’s the dumb ass now!
She does have a sense of humor, it’s a joke of a new Mother we all think our kids are super smart!

I’m French-Canadian & I’m not a fan of celine’s but I believe she was joking she rolled her eyes when she said it.The waving of the hands thing is probably because people say french people talk with our hands(move them around alot when we talk in an expressive way.)I think it’s gross that she ended up with Rene because he knew her when she was a very young girl & he was an older man.

Folks, being bilingual doesn’t mean you’re gifted.
It means you were exposed to different languages. That’s all. Where I live, lots of kids are bilingual. It’s really not a big deal, and has nothing to do with intelligence.
