In his new film The Lincoln Lawyer, actor Matthew McConaughey plays a man who is dead set on keeping his family safe. A dad himself to kids Levi, 2, and Vida, 1, the handsome star says it’s an instinct he knows well.
“Probably instinctually, I know that I have more to protect, more to guard now, having a family,” Matthew tells Entertainment Tonight Canada.
With the film set to premiere next week, Matthew’s been busy hitting the promotional circuit these days. He admits his little ones – particularly Levi – would probably prefer he stay home.
“My lady’s with them, the kids are at home. So they know every day Dad will go to work, but if there’s no bags packed they know they’ll see me at the end of the day. But all of a sudden if there’s a bag packed, then my 2 1/2-year-old wants to talk about, ‘Well, when are you coming back?'”
