In an interview with ESPN, Tiger, who has kids Sam, 3, and Charlie, 2, opens up about his new role as a single dad.
“Well, I’m a single parent, basically. When the kids are with me, I’m with them. I’m present with them and that’s what matters the most. Everything else goes away. Golf is way down the list,” he says. “It’s about trying to get them so that they’re able to be successful in life. Make them happy. Teach them each and every time they’re with me. So it’s not about golf.”
Though he loves the time he spends with his children – “seeing what they’re doing, what they’re capable of doing.… It’s just fun,” he says – it’s not always easy.
“It’s work, there’s no doubt,” the 35-year-old athlete tells ABC’s Good Morning America. “It’s tough. But it’s enjoyable. That’s the work I love.”
