Jenni Rivera: My Kids Made Me Who I Am

Mexican American superstar Jenni Rivera, 41, and her daughter Chiquis are pretty in pink on the cover Latina‘s May 2011 issue, on newsstands April 12th. They are also the first mom-daughter duo to ever grace the publication’s cover in its 15-year history!

The I Love Jenni star and her daughter open up about single motherhood, drama and their relationship.

Jenni, on life as a single mother: “I draw strength from that. If I didn’t have these kids, I wouldn’t be who I am. I have to show them how to fight, how to love and how to make it in life. I’m going to leave them set.”

Jenni, on trying to avoid drama: “I wish I could be like Mary J. Blige, ‘no more drama.’ I’m done with it but drama’s not done with me. I’m used to it.”

Chiquis, on getting along with her mom: “There is nothing we can’t talk about. My mom is very open, so if I’m walking out the door, she’s like, ‘Okay, go have fun, but don’t come back pregnant. Use a condom!’”
