Mariska Hargitay may have surprised the rest of us with the news of her recent adoption, but did anyone really think that she’d keep something that big from her partner?
Law and Order: SVU‘s Chris Meloni tells Us that he knew about his co-star’s adoption plans for quite some time, revealing that before bringing home baby Amaya Josephine, the 47-year-old actress was “a little ‘stressy stressy’” on the set of their hit NBC series.
“Uh, yeah [I knew she was adopting!] I’m her partner,” Meloni told the website Thursday (April 7) at the Food Bank for New York City’s Can-Do Awards. “You didn’t know; I knew. I had to keep my mouth shut.”
The actor, 50, who has two children of his own – Sophia, 11, and Dante, 7 – said that Mariska is “going to be great” with Amaya and her big brother, August, 4, adding:
She’s a woman that possesses a lot of love. She’s extraordinarily intelligent. I think she understands human behavior. She has endless patience.”
