Danica McKellar along with husband Mike Verta and her baby son Draco were spotted at the Los Angeles Times Festival Of Books in Los Angeles, Calif. on Saturday (April 30).
Actress/author/math whiz Danica was there to talk about her new book, Hot X: Algebra Exposed. She’s also the author of The New York Times bestselling book Math Doesn’t Suck: How to Survive Middle-School Math without Losing Your Mind or Breaking a Nail and Kiss My Math: Showing Pre-Algebra Who’s Boss, both aimed at encouraging young girls to enjoy and succeed at mathematics.
On her blog, the former Wonder Years star talked about the impact her books have had on her readers. “To have a seasoned teacher tell me he’s been using my books in his classroom and that it’s changed the ways girls approach him for questions – felt amazing,” she writes. “And in the next moment to meet a 12-year-old girl who tells me that because of my books, she finally feels smart and is proud of herself… felt amazing.”
But the best part for Danica? Having her family there with her. “And to hear this stuff again and again on a sunny Saturday afternoon, with my family sitting behind me…well, I don’t think life gets much better than that.”View Slideshow »»
