Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver announced their separation today, but 17-year-old son Patrick isn’t worried – because they drive Hummers!
“Appreciate all your messages. Small speed bump I’n life, luckily we own hummers, we will cruise right over it. All will be okay. #peace,” Patrick tweeted Tuesday morning.
Noteworthy is Patrick’s Twitter username. He goes by his father’s last name while his profile name is Patrick Shriver.
After 25 years of marriage, Arnold and Maria announced their separation with the following joint statement.
We are continuing to parent our four children together. They are the light and the center of both of our lives. We consider this a private matter and neither we nor any of our friends or family will have further comment. We ask for compassion and respect from the media and the public.”
Patrick has just signed on with L.A. Models and was recently featured in Details magazine.
Arnold and Maria are also parents to Katherine, 21, Cristina, 19, and Christopher, 13.
He’s a kid so I definitely cut him some slack. He doesn’t know what to say about such a personal matter asked of him by strangers.

i think he’s actually making an analogy here (and doesn’t need our forgiveness for making an off the cuff remark – it seems he thought about the remark and is making a statement). it sounds like he’s saying that they have the resources/support (family/friends) to get over/through a new circumstance in their lives (ie- the hummers over the road bump)…. it comes across a bit blunt, but i don’t think he meant it as such.
Someone obviously didn’t understand his sarcasm.^
it’s quite obviously a metaphor. That they are tough people (hummers) that can manage the road bumps (separation.)
