Jenny Craig celebrity spokesperson Nicole Sullivan – mother-of-two and star of CBS’ $#*! My Dad Says – is the face of Jenny Craig’s newest campaign, “We Know Moms.” The funny mama joined Jenny Craig after the birth of her second son; she lost 35 pounds on the program over a year ago, and she’s kept the weight off ever since.
Nicole recently ran alongside her husband Jason Packham at the Cincinnati Flying Pig Half Marathon with their two sons – Dash, 3 ½, and Beckett, 1 ½ – cheering at the finish line. The actress opened up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about the “We Know Moms” campaign and her boys who “turn everything into a laser gun or a sword.”
CBS: Tell us about being involved in the “We Know Moms” campaign. What’s it all about?
NS: “I’m thrilled to be the face of “We Know Moms,” Jenny Craig’s new campaign targeted to mothers. The campaign strives to enlighten moms out there who are trying to lose weight and re-claim control of their lives and their health that they can do it, and that there is help out there for them. I know what it’s like because I was that mom who was struggling with my weight and was really unhappy, until I found Jenny Craig and my consultant Becky.
Every family is different, but at the end of the day we know that kids look to their moms, and their husbands look to them too. When moms are changing their lives for the better and headed toward happiness and healthy eating, then the whole family will see the benefits. Jenny Craig’s “We Know Moms” campaign also highlights the fact that the executive team at Jenny Craig is predominately female – like CEO Patti Larchet – so Jenny Craig really understands the unique needs of women and mothers. We want to show the moms that feel overwhelmed that their hardest day being a mommy is Jenny-proof. Being on Jenny made my life easier, not harder.
Also, on a really fun note, we’re kicking off the campaign with a sweepstakes that’s giving one lucky winner and a guest a Hollywood Mega-Makeover, a free Metabolic Max Program and an exclusive meet and greet with me. More information on all the fun stuff you can get can be found here.”
CBS: Congrats on keeping the weight off! How have you maintained your svelte figure?
NS: “Thank you! I’m so happy that I lost 35 pounds in 16 weeks on Jenny Craig, and that I’ve been able to keep the weight off since. Since I lost the weight, I’ve been on the Jenny Craig maintenance program and have focused on achieving a balance of being healthy, happy and fit, while exercising in moderation. I got to my goal weight by just walking in the mornings. But now I can go jogging, which is crazy, because I haven’t run since I was in high school. In fact, I just ran my first half marathon in Cincinnati on May 1 with my husband Jason. Of course our two boys were cheering us on at the finish line!”
CBS: How are your boys doing? What are they into these days?
NS: “My boys are awesome! Very funny and super loud. I grew up with a sister so I didn’t know how little boys played. Turns out they turn everything into a laser gun or a sword. I don’t buy guns for them, so they become creative. My 1 ½ year old turned a cracker into a laser the other day! And immediately began “shooting” the dog. The boys are really starting to play together now and it’s so cute!”
CBS: What are your plans for Father’s Day?
NS: “We’re going to go over to a friend’s house and cook. He’s got one of those fancy kitchens so I feel like I’m on the Martha Stewart Show. And I believe I’ll be making my husband’s favorite desert…brownie sundae! But I’ll stick to my Jenny Craig Yogurt Bar. Yum!”
CBS: How are things over at $#*! My Dad Says?
NS: “We have so much fun on the show. Working with William Shatner is awesome. He knows his lines before anyone else and he’s got a million good ideas. And we love sharing articles from magazines we read, and he loves his iPad. Which makes me laugh!”
CBS: What’s up next for you?
NS: “Being an actor is so fun…and so stressful! Because you never know what’s coming next! I’m waiting to hear when we’re starting up with $#*! My Dad Says. And I’m working on the cartoon Penguins of Madagascar. I’m also doing a play this summer. You know, just to keep the stress level in my life high [laughs].”
