January Jones: "Everything Seems Kind Of Pointless" Without Kids

Mad Men star January Jones recently announced that she’s expecting her first child. The single mom-to-be split from Saturday Night Live comedian Jason Sudeikis earlier this year and is remaining mum on the identity of the baby’s father.

The 33-year-old actress – who is set to light up the big screen in X-Men: First Class next month – opened up to The Sun about the increased paparazzi now that she’s sporting a baby bump, her excitement about welcoming the baby and her hopes to find Mr. Right.

The blonde beauty, due to give birth in the fall, said “everything seems kind of pointless” if you do not have kids.

And she’d love to share the experience with the right man.

I would love to find an interesting man to date but people don’t seem to date so much any more. It’s more of a hanging out process. It’s hard to find romance, the kind of love story that carries you away. I would love to have that. I’m pretty idealistic when it comes to love.”

Unlike most expectant moms in Tinseltown, January actually appreciates the paparazzi.

“They’re always taking pictures while I’m walking my dog and shopping, which I can’t imagine is very interesting,” she said. “The weird thing is, it kind of makes me feel safe. I live alone and I feel like they’re always there, always watching. If someone were to come in and rob me, there’s photographers. It’s like the best security system ever.”

Everything seems kind of pointless? Ehm, no.

I would think it should have been obvious that she meant everything seems kind of pointless *to her*. That’s her opinion about her own life. So you are really in no position to judge the validity of her statement, because it doesn’t have anything to do with you. And I don’t know what’s so surprising. There are many people who feel completely unfulfilled in life if they don’t have children, just as there are many who don’t need or want them.

It’s a personal opinion, you don’t have to agree with her.

How immature of her part to make such comment. Even if it’s her own opinion, i wonder if she’ll say that to a couple who are unable to conceive. Life is pointless now? It’s a really stupid comment, sorry.

It may be a matter of her opinion but the way it comes out is more of a general statement.

She obviously has no filter from her brain to her mouth. Absolutely idiotic statement.

What a sad statement! How sad it is to birth another human being to give your life a point. What if they die? Become a killer? Do very little with their lives? How pathetic.

well it’s a bit premature to make that statement since she doesn’t have a child yet; one that has been born anyways. Also the comment about the papz making her feel safe, very creepy. You’d think it would be the opposite
