Snoop Dogg was all bravado and bling when he performed at Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards, but the rapper shows a different side when talking about his family and his life out of the spotlight. In a recent interview with Vibe, he talks about his remorse over missing the birth of daughter Cori, now 11.
“I regret not being there when my baby girl was born,” he says. “I was there for both of my boys. [For Cori's birth] I was out and about, ripping and running, doing too much. The precautions I take now are because of her.”
Snoop (born Cordozar Calvin Broadus), says that fame is fleeting and what’s really important is family. In addition to Cori, the Gin And Juice singer has two other children with childhood sweetheart Shanté Broadus – sons Corde, 17 and Cordell, 14. “When it all goes bad and there’s no more success, no more cameras, no more videos, no more people wanting autographs or music, it comes down to who really loves you.
“It’s nobody but yourself and your family. That’s what’s really important to me,” he says.
