Actress Maria Bello, mom to 10-year-old son Jackson, says that a mother’s love for her child can be a double-edged sword.
“I always say the day I had my son was the best and worst day of my life,” Maria tells the Chicago Sun-Times. “I knew that I would love this little person more than I ever loved anyone in my life. At the same time, I knew right there that I couldn’t keep him from learning all of life’s lessons. Even now when I raise my voice, I question myself as a parent.”
The 45-year-old is set to tackle motherhood on the big screen as well, taking on the daunting role of a mom whose son opens fire on his classmates and then himself in the upcoming movie Beautiful Boy.
“I have such compassion for those parents,” Maria reveals. “I can’t even imagine what they go through. They’re dealing with the loss of their children to either death or jail and must deal with the media blaming them. It’s truly being sent to hell.”
