Vanessa Paradis: Motherhood Is "So Beautiful"

Actress and singer - and longtime love of Johnny Depp - Vanessa Paradis covers the July issue of the UK's Vogue magazine.

The French-born beauty talks motherhood in the interview - she and Johnny are parents to daughter Lily-Rose, 12, and son Jack, 9 - saying, "I love being a mother. It's something I've wanted to do since I was a kid, but it was never as wonderful as it is for real. It's so beautiful. And yes, obviously, when you put yourself second, it has to make you a little less selfish."

Though she and Johnny have been together for well over a decade, they've never tied the knot. As the Oscar-nominee recently explained, "It if ain’t broke, don’t fix it. We just haven’t done the big public vow thing. It doesn’t seem necessary for us."

He was, though, quick to praise his partner, telling Look magazine, "She’s helped me become a better man.... It’s hard for me to explain how everything has worked out so well for me since I met Vanessa. How was it that I saw her sitting in a restaurant one day in Paris? Why did we feel so right for each other? You can’t explain those things."
