Singer Alicia Keys struck a fierce pose on the red carpet as she and her husband Swizz Beatz attended this week’s Keep A Child Alive event in London, England (June 15). The couple, who are parents to 8-month-old son Egypt, were enjoying a date night for a very good cause.
Performing at the benefit as well as presenting a video of her recent trip to South Africa, the 30-year-old songstress explained why the charity, which helps Africans and Indians affected by HIV and AIDS, is so important to her: “I was about five months pregnant when I was in South Africa. Having since given birth to a son, it really brings home the plight of these children who have been left motherless because of HIV.”
“It is a big deal because I think about all the children who don’t have a mum,” Alicia continued. “They have to fend for themselves and look after themselves.”
The ‘No One’ singer helped found Keep A Child Alive in 2003. Since then many of her fellow celebs have lent their voices to the cause, including Heidi Klum, Leni Kravitz, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Hudson.View Slideshow »»
