Acclaimed singer-songwriter Jewel has stepped up to support at-risk mothers by donating 2,600 Bravado! nursing bras and tank tops to their long time charity partner Baby Buggy. The expectant singer wanted to make a difference in her home state of Texas by supporting new moms in their breastfeeding efforts.
Thank you to Bravado! Designs for partnering with me to donate over 2,600 nursing bras to mothers in need through the extraordinary work of Baby Buggy,” Jewel shares with Celebrity Baby Scoop.
The generous mom-to-be goes on to talk about this great cause.
This is an un-paralleled opportunity and honor to play such a meaningful role in the lives of other new mothers, and help to assure that all women get the products and care they need for themselves and the next generation,” she continues. “Bravado! Designs and Baby Buggy have given me the tools to make a real difference in the lives of other new mothers. Through this affiliation, I am able to provide quality products and necessary services to support at-risk mothers who struggle to provide the best possible future for their babies.”
Jessica Seinfeld, founder of Baby Buggy, thanks Jewel and Bravado! for their support.
“This is a classic example of how a philanthropic partnership should work: a generous donor, a terrific corporate partner to help the people who need it most, and the opportunity to make a real difference in a community,” Jessica tells Celebrity Baby Scoop. “Bravado! and Jewel are a model for how Baby Buggy works best, and through this donation, we will reach mothers in need in the Dallas area who wouldn’t typically have access to these products, as well as aid the invaluable work of our partner site, Nurse-Family Partnership. We are extremely grateful for Jewel’s and Bravado!’s support of our programs.”
Jewel recently opened up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about her own plans to breastfeed.
I plan to breastfeed, but it’s every woman’s choice,” the Foolish Games singer said. “I feel that people can get up in arms about it and it’s funny what a hot-button topic it is. I don’t think people should judge each other. Each woman does what she feels she can do. I was farm-raised so I think it’s important, but that’s just me and I don’t mind if other people don’t.”
Jewel and husband, World Champion bull-riding superstar Ty Murray, are expecting a boy in early July.
