Jewel Welcomes First Child: Kase Townes Murray!

Congratulations to Jewel and her husband Ty Murray! Their rep confirmed to People that the singer gave birth to a boy on Monday evening (July 11) at 7 p.m. CST in Texas.

The couple have named the baby Kase Townes Murray. He weighed in at 7 lbs., 6 oz.

The Platinum Hit star, who has a new children's album coming out in August called The Merry Goes 'Round, has already released a statement.

Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy into the world. We are overcome with happiness – it really is as great as everyone told us it would be – better even!"
