Big news for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia costars, Charlie Day and his wife Mary Elizabeth Ellis, who announced Friday night at San Diego Comic-Con (July 22), that they are expecting their first child this winter!
“We’ve got a kid due in December,” Charlie confirmed to PEOPLE. “We’re five months along, and she’s feeling great. We’re excited.”
“We decided now is the time,” added the Horrible Bosses star. “And we were fortunate that it happened.”
Charlie and Mary will be the second couple on the set of It’s Always Sunny to welcome a baby together: Kaitlin Olson and Rob McElhenney are parents to Axel Lee, born last September.
According to Charlie, their friends have been offering lots of parenting advice:
People are always willing to give you free advice when you have a baby on the way, so we’ve gotten more than our fair share – and honestly, we’re gonna need it!
The expectant duo are currently on a break from filming while they await the arrival of their baby: “It’s going to time out perfectly. We live in LA, [so] my East Coast family and her Southern family may have to come see us this Christmas.”
Best wishes to the happy couple!
