As a young girl, Amy attended the Susi Earnshaw Theatre School in Barnet, North London.
Our hearts go out to Amy's friends and family during this difficult time.

Close friends and family gathered Tuesday at a synagogue in North London to pay tribute to Amy Winehouse. The 27-year-old soulful singer was found dead in her apartment on Saturday.

And while the world might remember the troubled songstress for her eccentric behavior and beehive 'do, she was someone's sweet daughter who was captured in many precious photos.

Yes Alice I agree these photos have humanized the dearly departed since so many prior published photos of her were less than flattering and intended to portray her in a poor light. And a pox curse on those prideful and heartless enough to make comments about a child's appearance.

what an absolute wonderful gift of voice and lyric that Amy has left for us to enjoy. I would have liked to have had many more years. What sadness to what the drugs and alcohol tear her down before our eyes. I wanted to reach out to her to ease her pain
