For weeks, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong denied that she and husband Russell were heading toward divorce. Now, the Bravolebrity not only admits that the couple has split, but she also reveals that there was physical abuse in the relationship.
Despite their problems, Taylor says that she’d like joint custody of the couple’s 5-year-old daughter, Kennedy.
“I hope we can co-parent as healthy as possible,” Taylor tells People. “He’s an amazing dad, and I want her to still think her dad is the greatest guy on the planet.”
The divorce has weighed heavily on Taylor’s heart. “When I knew the filing had gone through, I just started to cry,” says Armstrong. “We tried hard to fix our marriage, but it wasn’t healthy.”
But more than her own feelings, Taylor says that she’s more concerned about how things will ultimately affect Kennedy.
“I think I hurt for my daughter more than I do for myself,” she explains. “It feels like a big loss that she’s not going to grow up with both of her parents in the same house.”
Season 2 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premieres September 5 on Bravo.
