Jessica Alba Talks Maternity Must-Haves

Okay, she may not look like it on the cover of Lucky's September issue, but Jessica Alba was totally pregnant when the photo was taken about 5 months ago.

In the magazine, the Spy Kids 4 actress and mom to 3-year-old Honor Warren gives readers her picks for things every expectant mom should invest in to get through all nine months with minimal discomfort and much style.

In addition to drinking lots of water, and staying active with low-impact exercises like prenatal yoga ("The more limber you are and the stronger you are, the easier your birth."), Alba suggests that women indulge in some me time.

Pamper yourself," Jessica urges, "because once the baby comes you're crazed for a long time. So, if you can, indulge, whether it's getting your nails done, or getting a facial, or just spending an extra five minutes to feel pretty in the morning."

Surprisingly, when it comes to maternity fashions, Alba says that she stays away from clothes made for pregnant women.

And her secret weapon after the baby's born? A girdle!

"I wear a girdle around my tummy from the moment I give birth until it doesn't feel loosey goosey anymore," reveals Alba. "That takes a good two to three months. It's spandex with Velcro."
