Proud grandpa, Rod Stewart, hasn’t stopped gushing about the newest addition to his family since daughter Kimberly Stewart gave birth to her baby girl, calling the arrival of his granddaughter one of the happiest days of his life.
“My joy is indescribable,” the artist tells People.
The weekend was an extra special one for the family.
On Saturday (August 20), Rod hosted a large gathering at Dan Tana’s to celebrate Kimberly’s 32nd birthday. The next day, the singer, wife Penny Lancaster, and children Sean, Ashley, Ruby, Renee, Liam, and Alastair all joined the new mom at the hospital to welcome the youngest member of the Stewart clan.
Sounds like a great birthday for Kimberly!
The actress and model announced her pregnancy in April of 2011. The baby’s father is Oscar-winning actor Benicio del Toro, 44, whom an insider says was present at the birth of his daughter and “thrilled that she is beautiful and healthy.”
The source also says that del Toro has vowed to play an active role in the baby’s life.
